Beware of misleading addiction treatment ads online. When it comes to finding help for addiction, every step matters. Sadly, deceptive ads are flooding the internet, preying on those who are most vulnerable. False advertising, slick websites, fake success stories and flashy promises can lure people into dangerous or non-existent care. If you or a loved one is searching for support, be cautious. The first step toward recovery should be built on trust and genuine help. 💻🚫Learn the warning signs and protect yourself from these unethical practices. https://bit.ly/4e7Y1Ui #AddictionRecovery #OnlineSafety #ClickbaitAwareness #RecoveryJourney

Congratulations, Main Line Health, on your milestone achievement in lung cancer treatment! The Main Line Health lung cancer team at Lankenau Medical Center is the first in Pennsylvania to use a novel technology — pulsed electric field (PEF) ablation — to treat early-stage lung cancer without surgery. This new treatment approach allows the team to deliver short bursts of high-voltage electricity directly to a lung tumor during robotic-assisted bronchoscopy — a minimally invasive procedure for diagnosing lung cancer. The electricity perforates the cell membranes in the treated tissue, killing the cancer cells without damage to healthy surrounding tissue. In addition, the treatment has a remarkable effect of also educating the patient’s immune system about the cancer — essentially providing it with a “mug shot” of the tumor. This allows the patient’s immune system to detect and fight any cancer cells of the same type that may be hiding elsewhere in the body. This is called the abscopal effect. The combination of PEF ablation with robotic-assisted bronchoscopy empowers physicians to move beyond diagnosis to offer minimally invasive nonsurgical treatment of cancer in the same episode of care. This novel therapy was delivered on September 19, 2024, to a patient with lung cancer, under the direction of Thomas Meyer, MD, Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Director of Interventional Pulmonary Medicine at Main Line Health, and Patrick Ross, MD, thoracic surgeon and Chair of the Department of Surgery at Main Line Health.
