Traffic Calming: Bumpouts will narrow the roadway, effectively slowing traffic and creating a more pedestrian-friendly environment that respects the neighborhood's pace. Enhancing the Public Realm: Landscaping in these bump-outs will add greenery, beautify the streetscape, and complement the historic community Responsible Stormwater Management: Bioswales are being implemented to manage stormwater runoff, contributing to a more sustainable environment. The Vollintine Avenue Street Improvement Project is a step closer to completion! The Vollintine Avenue Street Improvement Project, born from the vision set by the Klondike Small Area Plan by Opticos, is on its way to completion! This transformative project enhances safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users through a range of thoughtful interventions, including road narrowing, raised crosswalks and intersections, pedestrian signals, and landscaping. The implementation of this project was made possible through the collaboration with key partners, including Fisher Arnold, Ensafe, and Montgomery Martin, who played vital roles in turning the vision into reality. Exciting progress on the Highland Heights project! As identified by the community at Summer and National, this top-priority intersection improvement is taking shape. The recently completed multi-use path on National, the Heights Line, includes new traffic/pedestrian signalization, curb ramps, and crosswalks and connects to this key anchor. Plus, we're seeing sidewalk improvements on Summer Ave and continuing a cycle track on Broad.
