About us

Mangrove Web is a woman-owned website design and development company with a diverse, talented team distributed around the globe. We’ve been building brands and websites since 2009 that amplify the work of change-making organizations and increase the competitive power of businesses owned by historically marginalized people. For us, success is helping conscious companies tell their story in a meaningful way. That’s why we prioritize working with B Corps and other businesses that are making an impact with purpose-driven work—from green energy and sustainable design, to groundbreaking banking reform and social justice initiatives. In addition to identity design and brand strategy, we design and build websites on Wordpress, Shopify and variety of headless CMS solutions. Our goal is to offer not only a stellar end user experience, but to ensure our clients are empowered to edit and manage their sites for the long haul. Mangrove also provides content strategy and ongoing maintenance services.

  • May 1, 2025, marks an important milestone for accessibility in Manitoba. By this date, all private and nonprofit organizations and small municipalities must comply with the Accessible Information and Communication Standard Regulation, ensuring digital, in-print, and technology-based information is accessible to everyone. Enacted under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, this standard focuses on removing and preventing barriers, so people can interact with websites, access information, and communicate without limitations. Now's the time to review your website and digital materials! Connect with us if you have questions. You can also read more about the requirements for organizations under the Accessibility for Manitobans Act in the article linked below. https://lnkd.in/eSjeEuN3 #AccessibilityInclusion #ManitobaLaw #DigitalAccessibility

  • Doing good is better when done together. One of the best parts of being a B Corp is the company we keep. We’re grateful to work with incredible partners, colleagues and clients that work towards making a difference every day. As part of #GenB, we’re proud to highlight a few of the B Corps we’ve collaborated with and continue to learn from: Plank : An award-winning web agency with 25+ years of experience, specializing in websites for arts, culture, and purpose-driven organizations. Their expertise spans custom CMS, digital storytelling, UX/UI design, and accessibility. Consciously® : The first Black-owned B Corp agency, Consciously redefines branding, content, and performance marketing. Rooted in the idea of ecosystem design, their approach fosters real, values-driven connections for their clients, moving beyond traditional marketing concepts. Firefly Partners : A women-led digital agency helping nonprofits and social enterprises align digital strategies with their missions. Their team specializes in inclusive design, digital strategy, and impact-driven marketing. Pearl Consulting : A purpose-driven consultancy bridging corporate, nonprofit, and government partnerships. Their team tackles women’s empowerment, DEI, climate action, and more through high-impact social programs. SJF Ventures : A venture capital firm investing in high-growth companies that drive a healthier, smarter, and cleaner future, with a focus on clean energy, sustainable food, health, and education. Mightybytes, Certified B Corp : A longtime friend and partner, Mightybytes blends digital strategy, UX, and web development with a deep commitment to sustainability and knowledge-sharing. #BCorpMonth #BCorpCommunity #GenB

I just spoke at a Girls Who Code event last night in Oakland, CA and got to meet a group of college freshmen who are brilliant, curious and inspired. For me, this was the best way to celebrate #InternationalWomensMonth by mentoring an incredibly diverse and engaged group of young women. These women represent a future in which technologies are inclusively and thoughtfully designed and engineered. 💓

    • A diverse group of women standing in a line, arm in arm smiling.
  • Meaningful conversations matter now more than ever. Big conversations. Ones that push boundaries and get us thinking about change. But, more grounded conversations are important too—they remind us to stay present and hopeful. Whether discussing business, social advocacy, ethical technology, or sustainability, women are having these conversations. And they’re inviting us all to listen and take part. To round out your playlist this month, here are a few podcast gems hosted by some inspiring and insightful women: Women in Tech Podcast (hosted by Espree Devora 🎙️) - Conversations with women in tech from engineers to investors to journalists, sharing the story of how they got to where they are today. The Circular Economy Show (with Pippa Shawley)- Insights about the circular economy and interviews with people who are working hard to implement it. Jane Goodall Hopecast (The Jane Goodall Institute ) - Compelling conversations and ideas about hope and fuelling your own efforts for change. The Badass Women in Business Podcast (hosted by Agata Chydzinski and Cristy O'Connor) - Candid conversations with women entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and innovators breaking barriers and making history. Her CEO Journey (hosted by Christina Sjahli, CPA, CA) - Frank and open conversations about the financial and business challenges women face on their journey to success. Women in Sustainability Podcast (from Efeca | B Corp certified 2023) - Women in sustainability share their work in sustainability across different sectors, geographies and commodity interests. Give one or more of these a listen and drop a comment below with some of your favorites. We’d love to check them out as well. #WomensHistoryMonth

  • Prospect Sierra School 's mission is to inspire and equip students to create a more inclusive and just world through deep intellectual engagement, self-knowledge, and care for others, proving that the impact of a school extends beyond the classroom. To share their progress transparently with their community, donors, and prospective students, Prospect Sierra wanted a more dynamic way to present their progress and talk about their impact. After building their full site in 2022, we created a custom impact report template that allows them to update and expand their report each year. Previously embedded on Issuu, their report is now seamlessly integrated into their site. We enhanced the experience with custom-built blocks and unique visual elements to creatively represent their community and donors. This new platform allows them to share their story, engage their community, and build trust through transparency. • When times feel unpredictable, as every day does right now, we lean into our community and focus on our values. We can’t control everything, far from it. But we can control how we show up, what we put into the world, and who works alongside us. Knowing that businesses like ours, and yours, are committed to impact and accountability makes progress feel possible and uncertainty feel just a touch lighter. We are also fueled by our connections and partnerships in the B Corp Community. In the face of today’s economic and political challenges, that shared commitment can help us turn our unsteadiness and uncertainty into shared momentum, collaborative solutions, and even mutual joy.  #BCorpMonth #BCorpCommunity #GenB

  • It’s simple. Women in leadership can help make the field of technology more thoughtful, more human, and more impactful. As a woman-owned business, we’ve seen how leadership shapes outcomes. When women have the chance to lead, they can go beyond innovation, completely rethinking what’s possible. Whether it’s small shifts within a team or big-picture change, women find ways to make things work and work better. We love this energy. And we know the world needs more of it. Tomorrow is International Women’s Day. It's a good time to pause and explore the work of women who push past 'good enough’, asking how technology can serve people better and redefining the Tech for Good movement. We hope you'll take a moment to explore their stories. https://lnkd.in/gFR7vw3q #TechForGood #InternationalWomensDay #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInTech

  • Happy #BCorpMonth to everyone using business as a force for good. We chose the B Corp path in 2016 to be part of something bigger: to be part of a global movement pushing for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. We wanted to help build a better way of doing business. And we’re still here for it. As B Lab gets set to raise the bar with higher standards and accountability, we’re proud to meet those goals. What makes being a part of the B Corp movement so special for us? Connecting with values-aligned businesses, holding ourselves accountable to being a force for good, and finding deeper meaning in our work, to name just a few. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a B Corp, now’s a great time to explore. Message us if you’d like to learn more! #GenB #BCorp #BusinessForGood

  • Food connects us all. In the hands of people seeking to do good, it can be a powerful tool for equity, sustainability, and community impact. These Black-owned businesses (which also happen to be B Corps!) caught our eye because they are using food to fight waste, create jobs, and support farmers in a way that changes their industry for the better. Be One to Give : Founded by Tony Colley, B12Give turns surplus food into a lifeline for those in need. What began as one man rescuing leftover food on his daily commute has grown into a tech-driven system that helps Toronto businesses reduce waste while addressing food insecurity. Boon Boona Coffee : Led by Efrem Fesaha, Boon Boona Coffee brings the rich flavors of African coffee to a wider audience while forging direct partnerships with smallholder farmers—especially women growers—to ensure fair pay. Their cafés also serve as spaces for community, inclusion, and creative expression. From food security to fair wages to inclusive workplaces, these businesses remind us that every decision we make—including where we invest our time and resources—matters. Give them a follow and check out their work if you can! #BlackEntrepreneurs #PurposeDrivenBusiness #Changemakers
