"After our mother’s condition worsened due to dementia and our father's passing, we knew we needed a solution that would ensure her safety and well-being. Living with her son and daughter-in-law in Florida, she became increasingly disoriented, wandering several times a day. Despite our best efforts, we struggled to provide the care she needed. We found Maplewood and, after touring multiple communities. We chose it primarily because of the welcoming staff and beautiful environment. The turning point was the Memory Care Director’s visit to assess Mom’s needs personally. Although the initial transition was challenging, Maplewood has been exceptional. Mom has thrived here—engaging in activities, reconnecting with her passion for art, and feeling more settled and less anxious. The natural light, caring staff, and positive atmosphere make a significant difference. The staff’s genuine compassion and dedication are evident every time we visit, with everyone knowing and warmly greeting us and our Mom. I highly recommend trusting the professionals at Maplewood. Their expertise, combined with their caring and attentive approach, has made a world of difference for our mother." - Charlie, son, Deb, daughter-in-law, and mom, Carol, Maplewood Senior Living Resident #Testimonial #DementiaCare #AssistedLiving

At Maplewood, we believe that offering enriching activities like painting classes is an essential part of supporting the well-being of our residents. These creative outlets not only provide joy but also foster cognitive stimulation and emotional expression. Our residents engage in painting as more than just a pastime—it's a chance to explore their creativity, build new skills, and connect with fellow residents. Studies have shown that art therapy can improve mental health, enhance motor skills, and reduce feelings of isolation. By offering these kinds of experiences, we ensure that our community is a place where residents can thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. We are committed to promoting vibrant, intentional living that enriches every aspect of life. A healthy, engaged mind is just as important as physical health. We're proud to offer activities that allow residents to flourish in every way possible. #SeniorLiving #ArtTherapy #CreativeAging

Maplewood at Southport was delighted to host a local Girl Scout troop of Daisies for a special tea party with their residents. This wonderful intergenerational event brought together the youthful energy of the Daisies and the cherished wisdom of our seniors. The afternoon was filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and delicious treats as the Daisies shared their stories and experiences. Initiatives like these not only create meaningful connections but also enrich the lives of both our residents and the young girls, fostering a sense of togetherness and unique connections. #IntergenerationalConnections #CommunityEngagement #GirlScouts

We’re committed to providing enriching experiences that foster creativity and connection for our residents. Our recent henna tattoo event was not only a celebration of art and culture but also an opportunity for residents to engage in a sensory, hands-on activity that promotes relaxation, socialization, and cognitive stimulation. Activities like these enhance emotional well-being and create lasting memories, reinforcing our dedication to holistic, intentional living. #SeniorLiving #CreativeWellness #IntentionalLiving

Last week, Maplewood at Princeton was honored to welcome Robin Wallack of The Jewish Center of Princeton, who has graciously shared the tradition of the shofar with our residents for the past two years. The shofar, made from a ram’s horn, holds deep spiritual significance, and Robin’s personal collection, purchased in Israel, brings this rich tradition to life within our community. Robin explained that “blowing the shofar makes people pay attention to the blessings that follow.” Her participation in this meaningful tradition, typically reserved for rabbis, is a privilege she holds close to her heart, and we are grateful to witness her dedication. These events foster a sense of connection, heritage, and understanding—values that greatly enrich our residents' lives. #RoshHashanah #CelebratingCommunity #SeniorLiving
