Job Opening: Safety & Occupational Health Specialist (Explosive) Location: Marine Forces Reserve Safety Office, Marine Forces Reserve, New Orleans, La. Opening & Closing Dates: 10/31/2024 to 11/11/2024 Salary: $72,553 - $94,317 annually Travel: Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. Key Responsibilities: You will keep the Ground Safety Manager informed of major issues and obstacles in achieving compliance with objectives of the Explosive Safety Program. You will prepare survey inspection reports identifying unsafe operations and conditions, specifying corrective actions and provide recommendations for program improvements. You will develop and recommend corrections and controls to prevent recurrence to the Commanders, managers and supervisors. You will review and evaluate a wide variety of explosive storage, shipment and use practices and procedures, requiring an analysis of complex hazards involving combined mechanical and equipment operations. You will represent the Commander and Safety Manager at various safety related meetings, conferences, and workshops. You will conduct ground safety and occupational health surveys.
