USSOCOM commander, Gen. Bryan Fenton, and senior enlisted leader, Command Sgt. Maj. Shane Shorter, visited MARFORSOC and emphasized its crucial role in special operations. During their visit, Fenton, Shorter, Maj. Gen. Peter Huntley and Sgt. Maj. Ralph Vargas toured MARFORSOC while interacting with Marine Raiders, instructors, and support personnel, seeing firsthand the rigor, innovation, and resourcefulness that are Marine Raider hallmarks. Fenton's visit highlighted the ongoing commitment of USSOCOM to better understand, support, and invest in the unique capabilities of MARFORSOC and highlighted the community’s critical role in protecting U.S. interests at home and abroad. Our mission is to recruit, train, sustain, and deploy scalable, expeditionary forces worldwide to accomplish special operations missions assigned by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). To accomplish that, we equip and train Marines to succeed in austere conditions against a wide range of adversaries. Marine Raiders execute complex, distributed operations in uncertain environments, achieving silent success and strategic impact. 📸 Cpl. Salvador Flores Perez

Today we celebrate 19 Years of excellence. MARSOC was activated on Feb. 24, 2006 after Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld directed the creation of a Marine Corps component inside United States Special Operations Command. We take great pride in the legacy built by those who came before us and our Warrior Ethos, which drives our pursuit of excellence today. The road ahead is far from certain, but our Values will never change. Through our tenacity and innovation, we deter enemies and defeat them if necessary. We are Warfighters, Capable, Lethal, and Ready. Spiritus Invictus 🎥 Sgt. Evan Jones USSOCOM
