At Markmonitor, we prioritize your business and provide the tools you need for success in corporate domain management. A significant part of our success comes from our dedicated engineering team, who work tirelessly to simplify the tools our customers use daily. Meet Rodrigo F. 👋, one of our Software Engineers. Rodrigo plays a crucial role in supporting our backend systems, ensuring that your domain portfolios are always protected and secure. Discover more about Rodrigo’s day-to-day activities at Markmonitor, how he feels valued, and the incredible growth he has experienced during his tenure with us. Q: How did you get involved with domain management? 🔵 Actually, I kind of stumbled into it. I had experience in other industry sectors, such as banking and energy, but this was my first opportunity in domain management. It's really interesting because even though I had been working in software engineering for a while, there were a lot of concepts that I wasn't familiar with. I've been learning a lot nonstop since day one. Q: What do you like best about working at Markmonitor? 🔵 Without a doubt, the people. I'm happy to be part of a team that is always willing to help each other and improve our processes and daily tasks. I noticed on my first days that everyone has a voice, regardless of seniority and experience. All opinions will be considered whenever a decision needs to be made, and there's a lot of room for it. This happened when we revisited our build and deployment process to deliver faster and avoid reworks. All these factors contribute to making Markmonitor a very friendly and collaborative environment. Q: What’s your favorite part of your role at Markmonitor? 🔵 Since day one, I've been out of my comfort zone, technically speaking. My first task was very challenging and related to an issue there for months. I've had exposure to multiple technologies and frameworks I didn't have before and was able to learn a lot from that. In my first months, I also impacted the team by implementing a tool to simplify the release process and raise engineers' productivity. Looking back, it's nice to see how much I've grown with all the work we've been doing. #TeamMarkmonitor #TeamNewfold Newfold Digital

At Markmonitor, we prioritize your business with 24/7 protection and exceptional worldwide service for your domain portfolio. Meet Shintaro Okamoto, one of our most tenured Senior Domain Portfolio Advisors. He provides support in the APAC region, assisting clients in Japan, China, Singapore, Australia, India, and other countries. Learn more about Shintaro's day-to-day activities at Markmonitor and how the team collaborates across different time zones to ensure our customers are well-informed about their corporate domain portfolio. Q: How did you get involved with domain management? 🔵 When I was looking for a new challenge, there was an open position. Domain management was a new field for me, and I am still learning new things daily. I enjoy my role at Markmonitor. 🔵 求職中にチャンスをいただき、未経験の分野でしたがチャレンジすることにしました。現在も日々新しいことを学ぶことを求められる仕事で苦労することも少なくありませんが、楽しみながら業務を行っています。 Q: What’s the day-to-day of your role like? 🔵 As customer support, I am responsible for the client’s inquiries and requests. My clients are not only in Japan; I also care for clients in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, India, etc. I not only manage the client’s domain but also translate news releases or client-facing materials from English into Japanese for my team. Since information on products and services is announced in English, I translate it to Japanese as part of my job and communicate it to customers. Q: What do you like best about working at Markmonitor? 🔵 I can always learn something new. The domain business is constantly changing, and new TLDs and services are being launched frequently. Serving our customers while learning about such things every day is a pleasure. We work as one team at Markmonitor. Even if we work in different time zones (Japan—UK) and different roles, we work cooperatively for our customers. Q: What do you like best about our company culture? 🔵 Despite working remotely, we maintain the same efficiency as in the office. 🔵コロナ流行以降は完全リモートワークに移行しましたが、オフィスで出勤していた時と変わらない環境・効率を維持した仕事ができています。 #CorporateDomainRegistrar #TeamMarkmonitor #TeamNewfold #NewfoldDigital

At Markmonitor, our employees play a key role in our success. We’re thrilled to spotlight Chris Swenor, whose exceptional contributions and commitment exemplify what makes our team great. Learn more about Chris’s favorite part of their role at Markmonitor, some of his most significant accomplishments, and how his day-to-day allows him to play a pivotal role in his daughter’s life. Q: How did you get involved with domain management? 🔵 A little luck and a leap of faith is how I ended up getting involved with domains. Most of my background was related to sports and management. I played college baseball ⚾️ in upstate NY, coached baseball after college in my home state of VT and managed a sporting goods store for several years. My wife is from the Boise area, and we wanted to move there. We had a close family friend working at Markmonitor who made a recommendation and introduction. After a couple of phone interviews (long before virtual calls!), I took a leap of faith and I drove to Boise to learn about DNS. 10 years later, it worked out for all of us! Q: What’s your favorite part of your role at Markmonitior? 🔵 There are many great benefits in my role. We get to work with some of the most well-known brands/companies in the world, and I love the teamwork and outside-of-the-box mindset everyone at Markmonitor has when trying to help our clients with any complex request or situation. Markmonitor did an outstanding job adapting to working from home post-COVID, which has been a huge benefit to work/life balance and allowed me to be a ballet dad and coach my daughters' YMCA teams! Q: What’s the day-to-day of your role like? 🔵 Most of my day-to-day tasks in the domain brokering world involve researching taken domains for clients that they might be interested in acquiring or advising them on potential values of unused domains in their portfolios. I enjoy working with clients to unlock potential value with unused domains in these large portfolios, and I regularly find high-value domains that clients need to be aware of. Providing clients with this information to make the best organizational decisions is very important and rewarding. Q: What has been your biggest accomplishment within your current role? 🔵 My biggest accomplishment was creating and launching our Domain Sales Service, which filled a massive gap for our clients and allowed them to generate revenue with unused domains. The most exciting accomplishment would be brokering the sale of X.com, though. It was great working through the process with our client, and it solidified our reasons for launching the domain sales service in the first place so that our clients had a trusted partner they could work with for these types of complex transactions in the aftermarket. #CorporateDomainRegistrar #TeamMarkmonitor #TeamNewfold Newfold Digital
