Throwing it back to 2013 when our Solar Gamera took the challenge of turning sunshine into horsepower! 🚗 After 25 years, the car built by UMD students for the 1990 GM Sunrayce USA, has returned to UMD’s Clark School of Engineering where it will be permanently displayed. Proud of the crew who pushed the boundaries of sustainable driving. Here's to a greener future! 🌍💚 Click here to read more: https://bit.ly/3zdy7iA

A woman who became the first Asian American anchor of major network newscasts such as NBC and CBS, Connie's brilliance cannot be denied. We will be launching an exclusive event with Connie and fellow Terp alum Jay Kernis '74 on October 8th, focusing on Connie's latest memoir! Throwback to some mischief on campus! Prior to the men's national championship Lacrosse game between UMD and Johns Hopkins in 1947, Maryland students visited Hopkins and painted numerous messages of anticipated victory around campus. As retaliation, Hopkins students traveled to College Park and stole Testudo from his perch outside Ritchie Coliseum, later burying him off campus. During Testudo's capture, Maryland students caught some Hopkins students and shaved their heads with an M shape, holding them until Testudo's safe return. According to a short article by the Diamondback, Testudo was stolen 12 times in fifteen years between its unveiling in 1933 and 1948! Read more: https://lnkd.in/e3yqwW7V
