Yesterday, our Global Engagement team hosted delegates from the U.S. Department of State CRDF Global, representing Fiji, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Their visit was to prepare them to make informed decisions about infrastructure development and facilitate the transfer of clean energy technologies among participating countries. The Indo-Pacific delegates met with Jen Brock, the Oceantic Network's chief of staff, who shared how the organization advocates for laws and policies to support offshore wind construction and ensure project supply chains are in place. They also met with Nancy Sopko, Sr. Director of External Affairs at US Wind, Inc, who spoke about US Wind's upcoming projects in Maryland and the 13-year process of constructing offshore wind. The visitors were particularly interested in overcoming legal and environmental challenges. Later in the day, the delegates visited the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and Maryland Public Service Commission (MPSC). MEA Director Paul Pinsky delivered remarks, followed by MPSC Senior Commission Advisor Morris Schreim introducing MPSC's initiatives, such as the EV Bus Pilot Program, Energy Transition Mandates, Clean Energy Initiative, and Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). The discussion then shifted to MEA, where Chief of Staff Jenn Aiosa, CC-P, and her team presented MEA's energy programs encompassing renewables, energy efficiency, transportation & innovation, and offshore wind. We are grateful to our partners who took the time to meet with our visitors. Your participation makes these global exchanges possible. #GlobalEngagement #SSIPCleanEnergy #SecuringOurFuture
