Maryland Women's Business Center reposted this
During this Economic Development Week, City Hall was abuzz yesterday as Maryland Women's Business Center hosted its Coffee and Connections' event titled, "Boosting Your Business with Philanthropy." Joshua Pedersen, Director of Grantmaking for the Ausherman Family Foundation provided an enthusiastic and thought-provoking presentation to the group about why doing good for the community is good for business. Frederick is home to over 1,600 non-profit organizations - a $1.2 billion industry with over 8,000 employees! Getting engaged with local non-profits is good for your business, the organization, and for the community. And it feels good to support so many important and game-changing community initiatives! Thanks to MWBC Senior Business Consultant, Karen Kalantzis for organizing this inspirational presentation. Whether you are just starting your business or already took the plunge, it is important to surround yourself with other like-minded entrepreneurs. The Maryland Women's Business Center hosts monthly networking with other women business owners in Frederick County as well as one-on-one business counseling to sharpen your business plan. The City of Frederick: Department of Economic Development is a program sponsor of Maryland Women's Business Center, which provides entrepreneurial support to start ups and existing businesses.
