Yesterday, MCEDC's President & CEO Bill Tompkins joined Maryland Tech Council's CEO Kelly Schulz as BioHub Maryland's Training and Education Center welcomed their first Masterclass cohort to the Rockville site. The cohort will gain valuable hands-on training and experience preparing them for positions in biomanufacturing. This workforce training program is a fantastic asset to the county and will continue driving the life sciences industry in Montgomery County, Md. #montgomerycountymd #lifesciences #workforcedevelopment #biomanufacturing

As we recognize Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor the rich cultures, contributions and histories of Hispanic communities. Join us for an October ‘Cybersecurity Connections’ Event and Networking Lunch in celebration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Cybersecurity Career Week! Hosted in partnership with the NICE (NIST), the Maryland Department of Commerce, and Montgomery County, this event will highlight opportunities and programs available to individuals in the initial stages of their cybersecurity careers. This event will feature two panel discussions which will highlight industry and government workforce development programs as well as perspectives from individuals who have transitioned into cybersecurity from different career fields. The panel discussions will be followed by a networking lunch, sponsored by Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation - Maryland on behalf of Montgomery County Government, Maryland.

Today kicked off BioHealth Innovation, Inc.'s BioHealth Capital Region Forum where Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation - Maryland and Montgomery County Government are on site to meet with attendees! This morning began with opening remarks from Richard Bendis, Governor Wes Moore and County Executive marc elrich highlighting Maryland and the region's position as the anchor of the BioHealth Capital Region. We also heard from Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation board member and JLL Executive Managing Director Pete Briskman on region trends. Tomorrow we'll hear from the Crab Trap Competition participants and discuss regional resources that strengthen the BioHealth Capital Region. Thank you to US Pharmacopeia for hosting this event.
