Here are a few best practices for nailing your next virtual interview: 💼 Professional, yet personalized virtual background: A clean background is essential, but add a touch of personality. A well-placed book, plant, or art piece can spark small talk and give a glimpse of who you are. 🔧 Pre-Interview Tech Run: Test your platform, audio, and video in advance. Also, have a backup plan like a hotspot to ensure smooth delivery if something goes wrong. Log onto the platform 5 minutes early! 👀 Virtual Body Language: Make eye contact by focusing on the camera. Use natural hand gestures and facial expressions to show enthusiasm and keep the conversation engaging. 🎧 Engage in Active Listening: Nodding, smiling, and brief verbal affirmations (“That’s a great point!”) show you're actively listening and engaged in the discussion. 📧 Send a Personalized Follow-Up: Go beyond the generic “thank you.” Include specific takeaways from the interview and highlight how your skills align with the role.
