A political action group working to get more Ohio women elected to public office.
About us
Tired of partisan rancor? Join us in a political action committee working to get more Ohio women elected to public office who will promote a healthy economy in which women can thrive and prosper. The Matriots is an Ohio nonpartisan political action committee founded in May of 2017 by a group of women who participated in the Women’s March on Washington. Moved by the tremendous outpouring of support that day for American women and their issues, the Ohio marchers decided to launch an effort to put more women into political leadership to ensure economic justice and advance policies impacting the lives of Ohio women.

The Matriots are saddened to hear of Jo Ann Davidson’s passing today. Speaker Davidson was a trailblazer, visionary, leader, mentor, and dear friend to many Matriots. She is the only woman to have held the Speaker of the House seat in Ohio’s legislature, and her elected career inspired many. Her creation of the Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute helped guide hundreds of women to roles in public service. She led by example, with grace and grit, and knew that engaging other women in civic leadership would make Ohio better. Speaker Davidson paved the way for women across the state. The Matriots are so grateful for her dedication and commitment to public service and will miss her voice helping shape the future. Her incredible legacy continues. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved her.

Matriots Education Fund Member, Laurel Beatty Blunt, wrote a great opinion piece about the importance of the Courts in Ohio. 🐝Do you know what role Judges play in Ohio Politics? 🤔 Laurel Beatty Blunt writes, "Courts are the final decision-makers on cases that directly impact you and your community... No matter your political beliefs, you have the power to decide who interprets the laws that will shape the next decade. Your vote is your voice in the courtroom". Judge's roles in interpreting these key issues below were highlighted: 💰Economy and Inflation ⚖️Abortion Rights 🩺Healthcare 💙Gun control 🧡Immigration 🌎Climate Change 🗳️Voting districts 🌟Civil rights 📢Be sure to check out the article featured in The Columbus Dispatch! https://ow.ly/kiu450TMTTz #OhioCourts #JudicialElections
