Exploring the diverse landscape of ETFs reveals a spectrum from passive to active strategies. At one extreme, passive ETFs mirror index performance by holding similar assets. On the opposite end, active ETFs employ managers to enhance returns through strategic investments, distinct from passive replication. Between these poles lie hybrid ETFs blending both approaches, sometimes causing investor confusion. In our experience, these hybrid investment vehicles are often mistaken for truly active ETFs due to their active components, but they fundamentally differ in their approaches.
