About us
Maui Humane Society is the island’s only open admission shelter, accepting all animals in need. The organization cares for more than 4,900 animals a year and offers high volume, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to the public for owned pets. The shelter has a robust foster and volunteer program, transfers hundreds of animals through Wings of Aloha flights to adoption-guaranteed homes, practices TNVR as a humane method of reducing the community cat population, and provides food and supplies at no cost to disadvantaged pet owners through the 4EverPets community outreach program. In honor of #AnimalShelterAppreciationWeek, we're highlighting one of our incredible partners, Maui Humane Society. Amid the Lahaina wildfires, they showcased their immense generosity by caring for 600+ pets from the Lahaina wildfires. One standout story is that of Nigel. 🐱 Saved by a first responder, Nigel was rescued after the fires in his community. Thankfully Nigel made a full recovery and found his forever home with the very hands that saved him.🐾 Animal shelters nationwide are filled with pets just like Nigel, waiting for their second chance. Join us tomorrow for #NationalAdoptionWeek at your local PetSmart from 11/6-11/12 to help us write more happy endings.
