Last week the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program turned 50! CDBG funding has been vital to the work we do at Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. We have been able to leverage CDBG funding to replace 450 roofs since 2016. That is a total investment of over $7.5 million in Toledo neighborhoods, in which $2.5 million was CDBG funding. With CDBG support we were also able to bring an additional 22 homes up to current code standards and abate all their lead. CDBG helps keep seniors safe in their homes, helps feed people in our community, and helps the most vulnerable Toledo residents thrive. Here’s to 50 more years of serving our communities and preserving Toledo neighborhoods! To learn more about how CDBG works in Toledo visit: https://lnkd.in/dqFKu699

We've officially kicked off our 2024 Women Build! 🎉 Last Thursday we gathered with Chrissy, her two sons, family, friends, and community members to celebrate Chrissy's hard work and perseverance as she becomes a homeowner. 80% of our homeowners are single female heads of household, which is why Women Build is so important! Women Build taps into the power of community by offering women the opportunity to leverage their strengths, skills, and resources to address the growing housing crisis.
