At the The University of Georgia, May Architecture embraced the challenge of modernizing the Hill Community, a pivotal space for first-year students originally established in 1961. Tasked with revitalizing five mid-century modern residence halls—Boggs, Church, Hill, Mell, and Lipscomb—we strategically blended historical significance with the evolving needs of today’s students. Our two-phase renovation, culminating this summer with the completion of Boggs, Church, and Hill Halls, was guided by a vision that respects the iconic mid-century modern character while reimagining these spaces for contemporary student life. Lobbies, lounges, laundry, kitchen, and bathroom areas were all transformed to enhance both functionality and the sense of community that’s so vital to the college experience and the nearly 800 first-year students that will call these residence halls home. Please welcome May Architecture's Class of 2024! Ziyi Z. hails from Georgia Institute of Technology and Yale University School of Architecture's Master’s Program. With an affinity for drawing and illustration, she will apply her skills to the healthcare and wellness environments, with the aim of creating impactful and thoughtful spaces for patients. Briana Keith is a Kennesaw State University alumni with a background in education architecture. She joins our higher education team and looks forward to creating collaborative spaces that provide a better learning experience for students. Rianna Wah is an Engineering alumni of Georgia State University, with a Master of Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. She seeks to create healing environments for patients inspired by her love of the outdoors.   Surbhi Agrawal is passionate about improving public healthcare and wellness accessibility. She studied at Manipal School of Architecture & Planning-MAHE and recently received her Master of Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. She finds architectural inspiration from her adventures around the world. Once again, the dedicated volunteers from May Architecture joined forces to support the Agape Youth & Family Center - Atlanta’s Back to School Bonanza. With enthusiasm and care, we assembled and filled 550 backpacks with essential items, including school supplies and other necessities, ensuring Atlanta's schoolchildren start their academic year prepared and confident.   Our team’s commitment goes beyond designing buildings; it’s about laying the foundation for a brighter future. We've just wrapped up a 1,550 SF renovation for the Masters of Analytical Finance program, transforming this space into a state-of-the-art immersive classroom for graduate students. This lab is designed to simulate real-world business conditions, fostering collaboration and innovation among students.
