As we come close to wrapping up Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀, the Radiology Team worked to raise $1,650 for the purchase of gas gift cards to provide to patients who receive a breast cancer diagnosis! Very generously, One Stop and The Corner Post matched the effort with $1,650 in gas gift cards! Thank you so much to Brady Lund, One Stop, The Corner Post, and staff for bringing this important effort across the finish line! 💯 We are extremely thankful for this outpouring of support!

We can’t thank Billy Carlson enough! He has provided a $50,000 donation for a CT Upgrade that will assist with neck injections & biopsies, keeping more of your care local! We are unable to offer extra services like this without the support of people like Billy. A truly humble & generous person, he likes this quote: “The meaning of life is to find a gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” -Pablo Picasso Thank you so much, Billy! We are extremely grateful! ❤️💯

Today we celebrate Maria Berglund as she received the North Dakota Nurses Hall of Fame Award! This is a prestigious award as only one is provided per year. Maria has been a nurse for over 50 years and has worked closely with Dr. Ramage for 20 years. Maria is so deserving of this award as she is kind, humble, and caring towards all in her path. She is such an amazing nurse, and we are so proud that she’s one of ours! Congratulations, Maria, on an amazing accomplishment! ❤️🌟✨💯

Today, on Patriot’s Day, we had the honor of celebrating three special veterans from the Good Shepherd Home and the Horizon with a Quilts of Valor presentation. Mark Honstein, McKenzie County Veterans Service Officer, awarded these veterans with quilts made by Watford City’s own Prairie Rose Quilters. The Quilts of Valor’s mission is to provide comforting and healing quilts to veterans and service members who have been “touched by war”, to say thank you. The Prairie Rose Quilters have made 16 quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation thus far. A quilt consists of three layers: 1. The top with its many different colors, shapes, and fabrics represents all the different people in our communities with all our differences, unified in our support of the veterans that defended us. 2. The batting or filler-the center of the quilt-is its warmth. It represents our hope that the quilt will bring warmth, comfort, peace, and healing to the veteran who receives it. 3. The backing is the strength that holds it all together. It represents the strength of the one receiving it, the support they provided to us, the support of his or her family, our communities and our nation. Each stitch that holds the layers together represents love, gratitude, and often tears of the maker. Today we honor John Danks, Doug Sargent, and Maynard Hecker. Thank You, Veterans, for your Service. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Thank you to a grant from the McKenzie Community Foundation, part of the North Dakota Community Foundation, 11 staff members were able to participate in Infant Bereavement Training. Lori Beth Blaney from Rachel’s Gift provided the programming. Rachel’s Gift is in 29 states now, and McKenzie Health was the first to receive the training in North Dakota. The grant was utilized for training costs and special memory boxes in both English & Spanish for families. Thank you to the McKenzie Community Foundation for helping our team receive important education on the best ways we can help families during a time of grief! We appreciate your generosity!
