CAT Alert: Hurricane Warnings and Evacuation Mandates Issued in Florida Gulf as tropical storm Milton Intensifies Rapidly As many regions in the U.S. are still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Tropical Storm Milton is rapidly intensifying and poses a serious threat. Fueled by the warm waters of the northeastern Gulf of Mexico, Milton is on track to develop into a dangerous, life-threatening hurricane. Global models suggest it could strengthen into a Category 4 or even Category 5 hurricane before weakening as it approaches the Florida Gulf Coast within the next 36 hours. Despite potential weakening, Milton is expected to make landfall as a powerful hurricane along Florida’s coastline. The system will bring devastating winds, destructive storm surges, high waves, and heavy rainfall, leading to hazardous conditions. There is an increasing risk of life-threatening storm surge for parts of the west coast of the Florida Peninsula starting Tuesday evening and continuing into early Wednesday. David, Claims Technician, was a well-respected and popular member of the McLarens Glasgow Commercial Property team since 2021. His professionalism, dedication, and warmth left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him. David will be deeply missed by his colleagues, friends, and all who knew him. McLarens Asia | Regional Meeting 2024 On September 11-12, 2024, our Asia team gathered for an impactful two-day regional meeting filled with insightful presentations, a dynamic client roundtable, and celebrations of remarkable work anniversaries—all complemented by some fun and engaging activities. The agenda featured key presentations, including global updates from our CEO, Gary Brown, a deep dive into Global Client Development by our CCO, Graham Smart, and an in-depth Asia Strategy session led by our APAC Regional Director, Martyn Wicht. A highlight of the meeting was the panel discussion on September 12, expertly moderated by our Regional Director - Asia, Michael Campbell-Pitt. We were honored to have industry leaders Clarence Ting (Aon), Donna Zhang (Munich Re), Wee Boon Ng (Swiss Re), and Brian Yang (AXA XL) share their expertise. Their thought-provoking discussions captivated the audience and sparked meaningful conversations across the room. We also took time to celebrate two incredible milestones: Ys Tsai, Country Manager of Taiwan, for 30 years of service, and stephenie leong, Administration Manager in Singapore, for an impressive 40 years. Their unwavering commitment and dedication to McLarens is deeply appreciated. To finish off each day, we enjoyed team-building activities, including a mixology class where participants crafted their own unique wine and fruit cocktails.
