You have the power of kindness- use it. If you don’t know where to start, then do this: volunteer to call neighbors who lost their homes and deserve the proceeds in excess of their tax debt. The Wayne County Treasurer tried to keep the profits. Your support can help these, mostly elder, neighbors get what they are due. There is a lot of pre-meditated crulty happening around us right now. If you had a tax foreclosure that Wayne County Michigan sold for a profit, the deadline to claim your profit is this coming Monday March 31. If you're not sure if you qualify, contact one of the groups in this article (Outlier Media Bridging Communities, Inc. MACC Development) and they can look it up, and help you notarize and submit the form. There is also an event with free notary services this Friday 3/28 from 3-7pm at Joseph Walker Williams Rec Center. Even if it was a small amount, wouldn't you rather have your $ than the county?
