Sam Cerwin is a fashion lover doing her part to save the planet, one clothing swap at a time. 👚🌎 She is the founder of BeReworn, a tech-based platform that connects people to clothing swaps in their respective areas. But the platform is about more than finding a cute outfit for a night out at a good price — it’s about repurposing, reducing the carbon footprint, and connecting with people without overspending. 🙌 In our latest blog post, we chatted with Cerwin, an alum of TechTown Detroit’s Start Studio programming and a current Traction participant, who is hard at work trying to achieve the next milestone for her startup. ⬇️

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Detroit (GS10KSB) program is celebrating 10 years and 30 cohorts of training entrepreneurs this year! 🎉 Ran by the Wayne State University Office of Economic Development (OED), this local chapter is part of the national GS10KSB program that prepares small business owners to create jobs and economic opportunity by providing education, capital and support services. GS10KSB Detroit has also welcomed Kimberly Burroughs, Ph.D. as its new executive director. 🙌 As part of its strong alignment with OED, TechTown Detroit is happy to support GS10KSB Detroit, and we have even seen some of our own tenants and alumni go through the program! 🤝 One example is Lydia Michael, a TechTown tenant and the founder of multicultural marketing and brand consultancy Blended Collective. Michael graduated from the 26th cohort of GS10KSB Detroit in 2022 and says the program has helped her grow her network locally and nationally. 👇 Learn more about GS10KSB Detroit and its impact!
