We’re thrilled to highlight the collaborative efforts of six MedVet hospitals contributing to groundbreaking cancer research!    Our Medical Oncology teams in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Northern Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Salt Lake City along with our Clinical Studies team led by Jon M Fletcher and Edna Moore joined forces with Drs. Hester Doyle and Mark Mamula at Yale School of Medicine for a clinical study on EGFR/HER2 immunotherapy in dogs. This research shows promising results for dogs battling osteosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma, and transitional cell carcinoma. Findings reveal increased survival times for dogs receiving the immunotherapy alongside standard care therapies. You can learn more about this at the Veterinary Cancer Society conference this week. We're incredibly grateful for our doctors, technicians, and colleagues for making a meaningful difference in veterinary medicine.

Does your pet get anxious when visiting the vet? As part of spotlighting our extraordinary vet techs for Vet Tech Week, we asked them to share their recommendations to keep pets calm and stress-free during their hospital visit. A few of our favorite tips for vet techs and pet parents include: 🔹 Create a positive atmosphere and get to know a pet on their level to help build trust and make handling easier. 🔹 Give pets a warm hug, hold them, and provide blankets to help nurture and comfort. 🔹 For highly stressed pets, talk to a veterinarian about medications like trazodone or gabapentin to reduce their anxiety during hospital visits. 🔹 Speaking softly can help pets feel comfortable and reduce their stress.
