With #DigitalPathology on the rise, healthcare providers are understandably looking for new solutions that can help them figure out to take advantage of the patient care efficiencies and improvements that come with streamlined pathology. At Merge, we encourage the solutions vendors whom we work with – both as partners and suppliers - to remember while the trend may be new, the client requirements haven’t changed: healthcare providers still need their solutions to be built for interoperability and standards compliance no matter if it’s for digital pathology, AI-powered diagnoses, or decision support applications. With Merge DICOM Toolkit, we’ve helped over 100 solutions vendors achieve their interoperability and compliance goals for over 30 years! Just in time for #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth are some heartening new numbers from the American Cancer Society: In the United States, breast cancer mortality has fallen by an incredible 44% in the last 33 years*, resulting in more than half a million lives saved! Much of this success is owed to a higher uptake of mammography screenings, and with them earlier detection of more cancers. Despite this, breast cancer remains the third most common killer for women in the US, and incident rates have grown more pernicious among younger women. Also troubling, a recent survey found that the share of women reporting annual mammograms starting at 40 has declined slightly in the past year, from 41% to 40%, while the share of women who said they do get mammograms but not on annual basis went up from 35% to 39%.** Merge works with radiologists and radiology practices around the world to make sure they have the solutions they need to transform their workflows, provide greater image access to patients, and help improve patient care – including speedy and accurate mammograms and breast cancer screenings. If you’re overdue for a mammogram, or haven’t had one yet, don’t wait to schedule one with your doctor. Remember this October that #ScreeningsSaveLives. *Source: https://lnkd.in/eB5AuGCe **Source: https://lnkd.in/dN2mN4vY

With healthcare providers gradually making the move to #digitalpathology, leaders are seeing pitches about various solutions to help get them there. The problem for solution developers: digital pathology needs to be based on *secure* industry standards. And on the occasions when digital pathology solutions do include standards such as DICOM, they are often built with toolkits that simply don’t meet the mark. Merge will be at the Digital Pathology Association #PathVisions24 conference November 3-5, to provide developers with a 90-day free trial of Merge DICOM Toolkit and a special Fall promotion of a free developer platform license for after the trial ends. See you there! And in the meantime, learn more about what Merge DICOM Toolkit has to offer for digital pathology. https://lnkd.in/edZyxPYn
