Merlyn for Education reposted this
It is hard to believe that it's been 3 years since I left Lenovo and joined Merlyn for Education, a new EdTech AI startup with promises to impact classrooms by giving teachers their own AI assistant. I've been in hundreds of classrooms helping teachers, met with leaders across the US in the largest and smallest districts, discussed challenging topics and brainstormed with state and governmental leaders, and partnered with many other Education serving companies. These are my ✨ Top 5 Observations ✨ over the last few years. I'd like to invite a few of my EdTech friends to share their own observations as well, so if you are tagged - I would love to hear from you in the comments... 1. Every classroom is different - the flow, the tech, the students. There needs to be the ability to curve and bend to adapt to needs. 2. Teachers are brave - like Brave Heart Lion from the Care bears. Their power boosts confidence and they take risks and lean in to difficulty. 3. EdTech solutions need to be easy to use and implement. There are so many challenges in a classroom and if there is friction, there just isn't time. 4. IT Decision makers have a hard job, balancing security with need. The best ones that I have met balance tough decisions around budgeting with innovation and being a service provider to instructional needs. 5. There is always risk in change, schools (just like their students) need a safe environment to experiment to grow and innovate with emerging technology. #edtech #ai #teachers Delia DeCourcy Marlo Gaddis Adam Garry Andrew K.
