Today we celebrate our CTO, Pawel Latawiec, for being named to the Photonics 100! 🤩 👏 Pawel has led the development of our core metasurface technology since the start of Metalenz. He’s been critical to Metalenz launching our technology into real devices and now guides a multifunctional team building systems and solutions around our unique meta-optics for Polar ID. (We like to call him Polar Pawel) Paweł not only is key to the development of the first imaging sensing solution built around metasurfaces, but he is key to the development of the terrific company culture at Metalenz, encouraging innovation and creative problem solving at every turn- all critical ingredients for this disruptive tech, and a successful startup. Hats off to you, Pawel on this much deserved recognition! 🏆 https://lnkd.in/gs9a_kKf Electro Optics #photonics100 #goteam #PolarPawel #metalens #oneof100morelikeoneinamillion

The original Orion™ optics 😎 #orion #3dsensing #consumerelectronics #ARVR
Did you know? Our Orion™ dot pattern projectors dramatically simplify existing SL and ToF solutions? Our metasurface optics replace an entire set of refractive lenses, resulting in; ✅ A drastic reduction in Z-height to fit in the smallest of spaces like folding phones, laptops, and tablets. ✅ Architecture that drastically lowers assembly complexity and cost of integration, driving opportunity for more depth sensing sockets for future tech like user authentication, AR/VR, and more. It is now possible to buy masks so lifelike that they can be used to fool facial recognition scanners. And criminals already appear to be using them. “…The vendor claimed that custom silicone masks have an over 90% resemblance to the real person, and confirmed that they can be used to impersonate another person while clocking in and out of work via a facial recognition system.” Read the full article by Li Xin in Sixth Tone https://lnkd.in/egbBx6ig Consumers and manufacturers should not have to compromise between convenience and security when it comes to facial authentication, however, not all solutions are created equal. That’s why we created Polar ID. ☑ Cannot be fooled by custom silicon masks ☑ Smallest z-height in the industry, suitable for folding phones and other ultra-slim devices ☑ Affordable- the price of an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. #biometrics #security #faceunlock #PolarID #futuretech

In our latest DEMO video, we have a hardware company! Rob Devlin from metalenz stopped by to show off their technology, which uses light polarization to help create advanced sensing for mobile devices and other hardware. In the video, watch as he demonstrates using the technology in a smartphone facial recognition app, which is key for Android smartphones to allow for facial purchasing and better security (and more cost-effective for Apple phones too). Thanks to Rob for a great demonstration! https://lnkd.in/ebnSPG9p
