Become an integral member of this incredible MetroWest YMCA Rodman Ride for Kids community!     Rodman Ride for Kids is an unbelievable organization and community partner of ours. They are hosting the annual Ride on Saturday, September 21st and we need your help. We seek riders for our team as well as volunteer help at the breakfast tent and as members of the road crew.     Join us for Ride Day, an impactful experience supporting two great organizations. After the ride, there is even a party, and its Foxboro location provides ample opportunities to continue your day!     Please contact, Ashley Place ashleyplace@metrowestymca.org for more information to participate.     All volunteers will even be entered into a raffle for a gift card!

One of the things we love about the camp season is the opportunity to bring families together at events like Camper for a Night, Banana Olympics, and the Penny Carnival! It's always such a joy seeing them spend time together, laugh and play, and connect with other families!

Yesterday at the Framingham Branch, we celebrated the opening of our new outdoor interactive playscape, which members, program participants, and Early Learning Center, PEL program, and School's Out students will enjoy for years to come! This exciting addition was made possible with support from the Children’s Investment Fund and the Department of Early Education and Care’s Early Education and Out of School Time Capital Fund, Massachusetts ARPA Funds, and the time and talent of our partners in this project. We'd like to give a special thanks to our young Certified Playground Experts who showed us how to go down the slides, answered questions about playgrounds, and reminded us of the importance of play!

Thank you, Alliance of Massachusetts YMCAs, for joining us on such a special morning!

What a beautiful way to start the day! MetroWest YMCA opened its new outdoor interactive PlayScape today and everyone was ready for it. It was wonderful to see a space transform into a fun and innovative playscape and hear the encouraging words from the speakers including EEC Commissioner Amy Kershaw and Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky. Thank you MetroWest Y for including the Alliance in your celebration. A special shout out to the kids (read playscape experts) for explaining the various play structures and helping us have a safe and fun play!

Meet Lindsey Bogott, our Farm to School and Food Access Coordinator! Lindsey has done an incredible job caring for our garden beds at the Outdoor Center, Clearbrook Swim Club, and Framingham Branch. She'll be offering garden education for all ages this fall while helping the community gain access to nutritious foods and lending a hand with grocery distribution. "I am super excited to help educate people on where their food comes from and to share with them the peace, happiness, and gratefulness that comes with nurturing your own plants." We're thrilled to have you, Lindsey!

The MetroWest Y is a great place to meet people and try new things, and Framingham members Linda Henderson, Linda Houley, and Kathy Alpert know this well! The three friends are regular pickleball players in Framingham. Upon meeting fellow players Boris and Sharon, who are both deaf, they were motivated to learn American Sign Language (ASL) so they could all communicate with each other. Together, they've been taking online and in-person ASL classes while creating a sense of connection and belonging for Sharon and Boris. Read more of their story: https://lnkd.in/gAezyvVy
