Meet Emily Hoyt of Martinsburg, Mo., one of MFA’s 2024 Ag Experience interns. Emily works in the Human Resources Department at MFA’s Home Office in Columbia this summer. Her project consists of updating recruitment materials used at career fairs and college trade shows during the fall and spring semesters. A student at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Emily is working toward her degree in agricultural education with a teacher certification. Emily’s time is spent working with her mentor to revamp recruitment materials, gathering content for promotional purposes and visiting retail locations around the state to learn more about MFA Incorporated’s operations. “My favorite part of MFA is the team I work with,” she said. “Everyone in the HR Department is extremely welcoming and I’ve enjoyed building connections.” Emily’s advice to future MFA interns is, “Just do it! Jump headfirst into the experience and interact with people in different departments so that you can work more efficiently with them in the future.” Learn more about the Ag Experience internships MFA offers at: https://lnkd.in/gVAUhjWi #GrowWithMFA

Meet Quent, a grain merchandiser for MFA based at Four Rivers MFA in Ravenwood, Mo. Whether setting up farm-to-terminal deals, explaining DPAD, taking grain contracts, or working directly with row-crop farmers, each day is busy moving grain. "I was fortunate to be selected as this area’s grain originator. And I’m forever grateful for it. Ten years ago, I would have never guessed I’d be in this position, but I love the job, " said Quenton Blackford. Join Made for Agriculture podcast co-host Emily Beck and MFA Retail Precision manager Davin Harms as they discuss a new program with guests Dr. Newell Kitchen, Mitchell Rice and Andrea Rice. The new MU Center for Regenerative Agriculture program takes much less paperwork than other cost-share programs that pay to help reduce the costs per acre for costly conservation ag practices. In the podcast, they discuss two specific programs that work with the Missouri Fertilizer Control Board to distribute funds to farmers who focus on the 4Rs farming method. The 4Rs of nutrient stewardship include putting the Right fertilizer source at the Right rate at the Right time and putting those nutrients in the Right place in a crop field. The full podcast is on Apple Podcast, Spotify, AgriAmerica, iHeart, or YouTube. Here is a link to the Apple podcast: https://mfa.ag/made4

MFA Incorporated held its annual Training Camp employee field day today. Employees from across the territory learned about seed technology, custom application technology and even saw a drone spray demo. The hands-on demos allowed employees to walk inside a warm-season grass establishment plot and see several crop protection rate trials firsthand. Held at a plot site east of Columbia, the replicated testing site is one of over a dozen where MFA tests products and application procedures across the territory. #MFAtrainingcamp #GrowWithMFA #YourWholeFarmSolution

One of the high-tech services MFA provides is Nutri-Track, a program that uses technology to put nutrients exactly where farmers need them. We're proud to share Darrell Ragsdale's story and how our MFA Precision Agronomy Specialist Brandon Hebbert worked with him to create a plan to improve the farm’s forage production efficiently and effectively. Learn specifics about the project and the tragic motivation that led to the change in approach to growing forages for this rancher in the latest Today's Farmer magazine issue at https://lnkd.in/gRFb7dhV
