Three firms. One team.

About us

MFA is a Memphis-based joint venture created to meet a growing need for trusted project managers with thorough understanding of the building process. Formed in name officially in 2017 to respond to the Memphis Cook Convention Center’s request for services, MFA is comprised of three firms who recognized that they were a stronger PM team together than they were individually. MFA’s combined 121 years of design, construction, and project management experience, coupled with successes in past ventures together made them a powerhouse team that could serve the city’s needs and represent their interests in this massive project. As licensed architects in a combined 30 states and more than 5,000 projects across resumes, the MFA team is equipped to provide a plethora of services other firms cannot. Unlike a real estate manager, engineer, or contractor who may have extensive knowledge and insight into certain aspects of the building project, this team understands the entire process; from preliminary and schematic design all the way through construction and closeout. The team understands buildings and how they work, the local markets, funding processes, and has worked successfully with many of the architects, consultants, and contractors that may be a part of any given project.

MEM on the Move News: Preliminary work has begun on the creation of a new commercial ground transportation lane on the baggage claim level of the short-term parking garage. This phase of the project will not have a significant impact on passengers, though pedestrians will be required to cross the street at crosswalks only. Once completed, ground transportation services will be relocated to this new lane. These services include taxis, shuttles, limos and ride share services, such as Lyft and Uber. This project should be completed by the end of the year. Follow the link for more photos and a diagram of the drives: https://lnkd.in/ej3JdU_v

The City of Memphis is thrilled to witness the renovation of the Simmons Bank Liberty Bowl Stadium! Yesterday's groundbreaking event was a tremendous success, filled with excitement and anticipation. Each speaker delivered a vital message in their own unique way: this is a significant investment in the future of the Tigers. Amid all the enthusiasm and before the recent demolition, one sentiment resonated clearly: "Save The Flag on top of the West Tower." A special thanks to Project Executive Austin White and Senior Inspector Boe Sterling for not only listening to the community's concerns but also for taking action. Their innovative design of a system to safely preserve this historic symbol is a testament to their commitment to honoring the wishes of our community.

Today marks a day in history. As Program Managers for the new Lester Community Center, MFA participated in the Topping Out Ceremony. We signed the beam and witnessed the highest point of the structural framework being elevated for placement. In the words of Mayor Paul Young, "This is another GREAT WIN for the City Of Memphis." #Memphis#MemphisParks #programmanagement#communitycenter #ProjectManagement

We are ecstatic to share this great news!!!! MFA is a finalist in the Memphis Business Journal Best Place to Work program. Austin White, Project Executive, said it best "One day you’re building a new community center, and the next day you’re renovating a golf course. Providing a broad spectrum of services allows for us to never fall into the monotony of many typical jobs. No one at MFA is ever just “going through the motions”, and I believe that’s one of the main reasons we’re successful at making Memphis a better place."" MFA truly is the best place to work! #MFA#Programmanagement#projectmanagement #constructionmanagement#movingmemphisforward#MBJ#901 #bestplacetowork

MEM is on the Move! ✈️ The first phases of the largest capital project in Memphis International Airport’s (MEM’s) history are set to begin in the coming weeks. At its monthly meeting on Thursday, July 18, the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) Board of Commissioners approved a construction contract for the demolition of Concourse A. The Concourse A demolition marks the beginning of the more than $650 million, multi-year project that will result in the modernization of MEM’s terminal building. Additional early phases of the Terminal Modernization and Seismic Program (TMSP) project include the addition of a commercial lane on the baggage level and the replacement of the outer drive on the ticketing/departures level. These early phases will pave the way for the modernization of the ticketing and baggage areas. The TMSP was identified in MSCAA’s recently updated Master Plan, which outlines the airport’s future construction projects based on projected passenger growth and infrastructure needs. The award is given annually to recognize a local development project that demonstrates the built environment values + principles Tommy Pacello championed: small scale, low cost, high impact. The new Community Center at Gaisman Park is a revitalization of a beloved and sacred place of gathering and community for everyone in the Berclair Neighborhood to enjoy for years to come. The rebuild of the Gaisman Community Center was managed by MFA, Program Management. Memphis Parks Director Nick Walker said he hopes the center is a "thread that combines the history of the area, where it is today, and where it is going, and always be the center of the community." We are confident that the center will serve as a true reflection of the community's diversity, becoming the vibrant heart of our local community. We express immense gratitude to our exceptional team whose dedication and expertise played a pivotal role in bringing this project to fruition.
