MHRB is the local board of mental health and addiction services serving the residents of Warren and Clinton Counties. Our mission: to support a healthier community by investing in a system of mental health and substance use disorder services for the people of our counties.. MHRB contracts with provider agencies, hospitals and other organizations to provide services and programs that support prevention, treatment and recovery from mental illness and addiction. The goal is to help individuals recover and return to active participation in their families, their jobs and their communities. MHRB has a Speaker's Bureau that's ready to visit with your organization to talk about mental health and addiction issues. You may have done this yourself without even realising it. The term ‘committed suicide’ goes back to when suicide was considered illegal, as in ‘committing a crime’. Using terminology such as ‘died by suicide’ is more accurate and more respectful to the deceased and their families. It may not always seem a big deal but the words we use can have a role in reducing stigma, and be impactful for those around us.
