Last month, Governor Mike DeWine created a new working group to review how missing persons cases are investigated in Ohio. The group will focus on improving resources, law enforcement staffing, database usage, and investigation practices to help bring more missing individuals home safely. “Every life is valuable, which is why it’s crucial to take these cases seriously,” said Governor DeWine. OhioMHAS Chief Advisor Tia Marcel Moretti joined Ohio Department of Medicaid Director Maureen Corcoran, Ohio Department of Children and Youth Assistant Director Jeff Van Deusen, and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Deputy Director of the Division of Policy and Strategic Direction Steven Beha for a panel session at the Public Children Services Association of Ohio's Executive Membership Meeting to share budget priorities related to children and families. Chief Advisor Tia Marcel Moretti highlighted the expansion of Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS), as well as the proposal to make resiliency-focused prevention curricula available free to Ohio's public schools. She also discussed the Maternal Opiate Medical Support program (MOMS), and the agency's work to grow Family Peer Support.

OhioMHAS Director LeeAnne Cornyn joined members of the Ohio Business Roundtable for a discussion on mental health in the workplace. Director Cornyn provided an overview of Governor DeWine’s proposed executive budget for SFY 2026-27, noting key investments to strengthen crisis services for Ohioans. She talked about the impact of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and highlighted investments that seek to expand Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) and adult mobile services statewide. She also discussed ways employers can support their employees’ mental health and educated members on the Ohio Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative.
