Congratulations to all FMI graduates in the Class of 2024! Among them, 12 are Honors College graduates and 6 earned Board of Trustees awards for a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Throughout their time at Michigan State, these students have also shown what it means to go above and beyond outside the classroom by serving as student organization leaders, peer coaches, and teaching assistants. We are so proud of all your accomplishments and feel honored to add your names to the growing list of MSU FMI alumni. This semester, 271 graduates were recognized by Michigan State University Board of Trustees for achieving the highest scholastic average - a 4.0 GPA. Students graduating with a 4.0 GPA are presented with the Board of Trustees Award, recognizing their academic achievement. Additionally, each recipient will be acknowledged during the spring commencement ceremonies and will receive $1,000 from the university for their accomplishments. The Michigan State University Financial Markets Institute would like to congratulate the following FMI scholars on this tremendous achievement: Larson DeBouver, who earned a bachelor's in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business and is a member of the Honors College. DeBouver is from Schaumburg, IL and will be working full-time at William Blair in Chicago. Tyler Mussen, who earned a bachelor's in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business and is a member of the Honors College. Mussen is from Plymouth, MI and will be working full-time at Plante Moran Corporate Finance in Detroit. Dushyant Pawar, who earned a bachelor's in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business. Pawar is from India and will be working full-time at Aptiv in India. Shane Schwarz, who earned a bachelor's in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business and is a member of the Honors College. Schwarz is from Manhattan Beach, CA and will be working full-time at J.P. Morgan in Los Angeles. Cherry Sun, who earned a bachelor's in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business and is a member of the Honors College. Sun is from China and will be working full-time at Deutsche Bank in Chicago. Aiden Tomsich, who earned a bachelor's in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business and is a member of the Honors College. Tomisch is from Detroit, MI and will be working full-time at Stout in Chicago. Congratulations! The Financial Markets Institute would like to give a special shoutout to several scholars who competed in the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) at Dartmouth, where the MSU team took 3rd place overall: Larson DeBouver, Senior (William Blair) Cameron Korman, Junior (Ares Management) Surush Kataev, Junior (Raymond James) Saransh Mehta, Junior (Palm Tree) Alex Bultynck, Junior (TD Cowen) Sahib Sekhon, Sophomore (Donnelly Penman) Dominic Piccirilli (alternate), Sophomore (Ottawa Avenue PE) The VCIC requires a significant amount of time and dedication, so the FMI also extends a sincere thank you to Red Cedar Ventures and Jeff Wesley. Another successful Chicago roadshow in the books! This month, the Financial Markets Institute welcomed back Patricia Cook, President of executive training company Patricia Cook & Associates, for an immensely educational session on professional presence, executive soft skills, and dining etiquette. Patricia has over 30 years of experience helping business professionals improve their communication skills, personal brands, and interpersonal relationships through engaging and dynamic training sessions.
