Excited to announce this will be our first year in the GHBA. This is our debut in Houston Builder Magazine. This year our office has doubled in size and we are trusted trades with over 25 builders by the end of our third quarter. The photo to the right is our new Texoma™️Grass that will be available late 2025. Designed for sports feilds and golf courses. By far one of the strongest root systems I have seen on a Bermuda grass. Featuring a lush dark green color with fine blade perfect for fairways. Grows fast and is extremely drought resistant. #GHBA #micks #houstonbuilderassociation

Can you install sod in the fall? Yes, you can! Here in Texas, the months of October through December often offer fairly temperate weather compared to more northern regions. That means your sod will have plenty of time to take root and get established before the first frost, while not requiring nearly as much water as it would in the summer. Why wait till next year for a fresh new lawn? Call or visit micksgrass.com to get started or learn more about our services. #micksgrass #sod #grass #landscapingservices #commerciallandscaping

Considering a lawn refresh? Now is the time to lay fresh sod! Take advantage of the change in season and the specific benefits that fall brings to give your new sod lawn the best chance at success. Fall typically brings more consistent rainfall, which is a boon for newly planted trees, shrubs, perennials, and sod. This natural moisture reduces the need for frequent watering, making it easier for your plants to settle in and take root. Cooler temperatures also cause moisture to evaporate slowly, giving your sod and plants more time to absorb the water they need. This combination of increased rainfall and reduced evaporation creates optimal conditions for plant establishment. Creating and maintaining a lush, resilient lawn starts at the root with a strong and healthy sod root system. Let the team at Mick’s Grass & Sod set your lawn up for success with intentional care this fall. Give us a call or visit micksgrass.com to learn more. #micksgrass #sod #grass #landscapingservices

Fall offers the ideal opportunity for landscaping your yard. During fall, the cooler weather and increased moisture help plants establish strong root systems before winter. This gives them a head start for spring growth. Additionally, working in the fall can be more comfortable, with fewer pests and less intense sun. By taking advantage of these conditions, you can achieve lasting results and enjoy a beautiful yard for years to come. Check out our most recent blog post, “10 Reasons Fall is Best for Landscaping Your Yard,” to learn more about how to take advantage of the change in seasons. With the fall season almost here, now is the time to address any bare patches in your lawn. You can do this by applying a lawn repair mix that includes seed, fertilizer, and mulch. Early repair reduces the likelihood of weeds taking root in these vulnerable areas over the winter. Addressing bare areas now will ensure these spots can fill in before winter and are ready to thrive before spring. Creating and maintaining a lush, resilient lawn starts at the root with a strong and healthy sod root system. Let the team at Mick’s Grass & Sod set you up for success next spring with intentional lawn care this fall. Give us a call or visit micksgrass.com to learn more. #micksgrass #sod #grass #landscapingservices
