Last week, Clean Fuels Michigan and the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council hosted an event as the Detroit Smart Parking Lab to discuss the new Transportation Electrification Policy Roadmap for the state. The event included a panel discussion featuring speakers from Bollinger Motors, Walker-Miller Energy Services, and DTE Energy. We also gave a tour of the DSPL to show the emerging technology right here in Detroit. #driveelectric #driveelectricmi

This is a great campaign that aligns with our mission of improving clean and equitable transportation options across Michigan. If you know of an organization that goes above and beyond to offer EV charging opportunities for its employees, be sure to nominate them at the site linked below!
The world needs more workplaces with EV chargers. That’s why The EMPOWER Project exists. And it’s why we’ve launched a campaign to celebrate forward-thinking employers in the U.S. who are providing chargers for their employees. Workplace charging is life changing for people who can’t have a charger at home, but want to save money (and the planet) by driving electric. Our goal is to crown an EV Charging Champion–an organization that’s gone above and beyond to offer EV chargers to their employees. Whether or not you win, EVERY organization who applies will be featured on our website, promoted in social media, and sent a certificate to commemorate their success. 🙌 Nominations are accepted through December 31, 2024. APPLY HERE 👉 https://lnkd.in/gvJgaNq4 👈 Please note: to qualify, the organization needs to have installed chargers on or after April 1, 2022. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! 🙏 Thank you to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for funding EMPOWER and for our nearly 50 partners for bringing this project to life… Smart Electric Power Alliance Beam Global Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC - The Reliable One) Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) EvoCharge OpConnect Shift2Electric ICF Kimley-Horn Cadeo / Resource Innovations Atlas General Contractors - AGC Atom Power, Inc. We are always happy to see the growth and expansion of clean transportation networks that provide equitable access! The new CarShare program in Grand Rapids will do exactly that, helping more Michiganders move around town at an affordable price. https://lnkd.in/dP7d7-xM

We hosted our final engagement session with Detroit residents to receive input on local transportation. Hosted at the Industry Innovation Center, the Charlotte and Weber apartments' community shared their questions, concerns, wants, and needs when it comes to transportation. Thanks to LISC Detroit for partnering with us on these insightful events!

Our team visited Jackson Public Schools this week to see their new fleet of electric school buses. We joined organizations from the It's Electric coalition on-site to promote electric school buses for healthier air and smoother rides for students. Jeffrey Hoang shared his experience while riding one of the new electric school buses.

Last week was busy for our team in Detroit! We started at the Forth Roadmap Conference where Director Maggie Striz Calnin joined a panel discussion on used electric vehicles. The conference also featured workgroup meetings with TEEM (Towards Equitable Electric Mobility) and CCEEJI (Clean Cities Energy and Environmental Justice Initiative) through the Clean Cities network. It was a productive week connecting with so many people who share our vision of improving clean transportation options in Michigan!

The fall season is upon us, so let's take a moment to look back at a busy summer! - Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II delivered remarks at the opening of the Affordable Mobility Platform (AMP) at River Crest in Detroit. - We hosted a listening session at Dreamtroit, playing games and talking to residents about their transit concerns. - The 2024 Clean Cities and Communities Training Workshop in St. Paul, MN featured our partner programs sharing their experiences promoting clean and alternative fuels, plus we got to see a fully electric fire truck. - Our team went to Kalamazoo to host an ice cream social and introduce residents of the Creamery Apartments to a local AMP site.
