We recently hosted an ice cream social at the Creamery Apartments promoting an AMP care share site in Kalamazoo. Many residents and community members did not previously know about the AMP program, so this was their first time learning about this mobility opportunity. Access to affordable, clean transportation is critical for our communities!
We had a busy week to end the month of August! On Wednesday, we returned to Dreamtroit for a transportation engagement session, playing games and listening to residents about their transit concerns. Then, just 12 hours later on Thursday we attended and spoke at Biodiesel on the Riverwalk. Hosted by the Detroit Wayne County Port Authority, we joined several partners to show our support for adopting and using biofuels.
Lots of clean transportation funding opportunities in Michigan right now! The third annual EV Road Trip stopped in Detroit this week! The trip featured exciting and unique EV events and demonstrations. We talked to Daphne Dixon, executive director of the Clean Transportation Coalition - Western Connecticut about the road trip’s mission and the importance of EV technology. More clean buses are coming to Michigan! 29 school districts will receive $30 million for clean transportation options. This will equal 114 new clean buses across the state. Not only are these buses better for the environment, but they start more reliably, reach a comfortable temperature faster, and are less expensive to operate.
