Mighty Oak Medical wants to thank Robin Young, Orthopedics This Week and RRY Publications for focusing on a recent peer-reviewed article from Virginia Mason demonstrating the unsurpassed accuracy of its FIREFLY 3D printed pedicle screw guides for placing screws in the most challenging of pedicles. Mighty Oak won the coveted Spine Technology Award from Orthopedics This Week four separate times and, on each occasion, went to NASS thrilled to have its products chosen from the vast array of exciting new spinal technologies out there. This year, we head to NASS equally thrilled that Orthopedics This Week has featured FIREFLY in its newsletter as a navigation solution that provides unsurpassed accuracy while decreasing the time needed for screw placement in complex spinal surgeries. The concept that won years ago has been proven to work incredibly well. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped FIREFLY on its exciting journey! We look forward to seeing you at NASS. https://lnkd.in/gkJ-mSa4

🌟 Celebrating Innovation in Medical Technology! 🌟 Congratulations to our partner Mighty Oak Medical, HP’s Center of Excellence in the US for medical devices, for their recent FDA clearance of the 3D pre-surgical planning software! 🏆 Key New Features: - Automated spinal CT scan segmentation 🧠 - Full skeletal anatomy CT scan segmentation 🦴 - Full skeletal autoclavable 3D printed anatomical bone models   This advanced software and the anatomical bone models aid in forming diagnoses and enable surgeons to efficiently visualize challenging anatomy pre-operatively. The anatomical bone models, printed on HP Multi Jet Fusion technology using HP’s biocompatible and autoclave-sterilizable material, allow surgeons to anticipate complex patient anatomy that may otherwise be hidden beneath the patient's soft tissue structures. This enables them to make well-informed surgical plans.   Together with Mighty Oak Medical we are improving patient care and making the impossible possible. We are excited about future enhancements to our shared healthcare software ecosystem, including 3D pre-operative spinal deformity correction planning, and we look forward to many more FDA clearances. 🚀   Congrats again, Mighty Oak Medical! 🎉   #MedicalInnovation #3DPrinting #Healthcare #FDAApproval #SurgicalPlanning #PatientCare #HP #MightyOakMedical #MedicalDevices #Innovation

We're excited to highlight the impact of our partnership with Mighty Oak Medical and their innovative FIREFLY® Technology! . . . At  Children's Hospital Colorado, surgeons used FIREFLY 3D printed guides to deliver personalized scoliosis surgery for Lane, a young patient with hemophilia, a bleeding disorder. As the surgeon said, "The 3D printing lets you get that really precise fit for complex spinal instrumentation… where even a millimeter or two off matters….the 3D printing helps reduce potential error.” 3D-printed anatomical models and surgical guides help physicians accurately plan and place pedicle screws used in spinal fusion procedures. The successful surgery showcases how FIREFLY Technology, enabled by HP's advanced 3D printing solutions, is transforming pediatric care through personalized #healthcare solutions. https://lnkd.in/gJVdQ4Un As we continue pushing 3D printing boundaries together, we look forward to more remarkable stories of changing lives. #3dprinting #medicaladditivemanufacturing #patientspecificsurgery #pediatric #orthopaedics #spinalsurgery

Today we feature a second highlight of the recent presentation at the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS): reductions in blood loss. Gooda et al showed 𝟮𝟲% less blood loss per screw on average (𝗽<𝟬.𝟬𝟱) 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲.¹ Studies have shown a direct correlation between increased blood loss, higher rates of infection, and longer hospital stays.² Darren F. Today we highlight a finding from a recent presentation at the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS): surgical duration. Gooda et al demonstrated that FIREFLY guides reduced total surgical time by an average of 23% (p<0.05).1 Research consistently shows longer operative times are linked to increased complications in spine surgery.2,3 Darren F.
