❌ 29.6% of women have access to female-specific PPE in their workplace ❌ 94.3% of women have experienced challenges finding PPE that properly fits ❌ Over 50% of women have had to often modify or adjust standard issue PPE to fit their body PPE is just that - Personal PROTECTIVE Equipment. It's essential to do many of our jobs correctly and safely. When it doesn't fit properly, we aren't at our best, putting us at risk. Some "tough love" thoughts about mining & social media... and you might not like them 😅 After years of working in both mining and social media, here are some of my controversial tips: 👉 Just start. Start messy. Start unprofessionally. The industry needs more authentic voices, not perfect ones. 👉 Shift your perspective: Instead of asking "What will I gain from social media?" ask "What can I share?" What stories, knowledge, or experiences could help others?" The ROI might not be immediate, but the long-term impact is worth it. 👉 Here's the tough one: If community outreach and education are in your core values or investor presentations, but you're not actively supporting local mining museums, educational programs, or STEM initiatives... it's time for a reality check. Are they really your "core values" then? The good news? There are SO many ways to walk the talk: • Partner with local schools • Support mining museums (there's probably one closer than you think!) • Enable employee volunteering • Sponsor university programs (Like we do through Geologize LTD's geo/mining communication training - because communication isn't just a "soft skill" anymore) 👉👉 The industry won't change by itself, and we can't expect others to do the heavy lifting for us.
