Fire Station Transformation: Slate Sol-Silicate Brick Stain Update! Fire Station Project with Sol-Silicate Masonry Stain The fire station was originally painted over 10 years ago with standard paint. Over time, the surface began to chip, peel, and discolor, changing from a darker slate color to a greenish hue. Instead of using traditional masonry stains, we applied our Sol-Silicate Masonry Stain. This product is based on potassium silicate technology, which allows it to permanently bond to painted surfaces, including ribbed split block. In early March, we applied a test sample and allowed it to cure and weather through spring, summer, and early fall. The results showed that Sol-Silicate successfully bonded to the existing paint and will remain in place as the original paint gradually degrades, which may take up to three years. Unlike standard paint, which fades and loses color over time, Sol-Silicate’s mineral pigments will stay vibrant, even as the base paint wears away. Our Sol-Silicate stain can be applied even to newer paint, allowing it to form a lasting bond that works its way deeper into the masonry over time. Important: Any loose or flaking areas of the original latex or acrylic paint must be removed and cleaned before applying Sol-Silicate. Benefits of our Sol-Silicate Masonry Stain Breathable: Allows for natural ventilation, similar to traditional masonry stains. * UV Protected: Resists fading and maintains color integrity despite sun exposure. * Non-Combustible: Safe for fire station and other high-safety applications. * Alkaline (pH 11): Helps prevent mildew and algae growth on masonry. * Matte Finish: Provides a natural, long-lasting look that doesn’t degrade like standard paint. * Eco-Friendly 0 VOC Product info: https://lnkd.in/eYNf38gf

Discover the refined look of Mineral Stains' Black Grey masonry stain, engineered for a stunning and lasting finish on various substrates. This versatile color brings a unique depth to surfaces like brick, smooth or textured concrete pavers, and Hardie board. In this video, we showcase Black Grey on a range of materials to illustrate how its appearance can vary with texture and absorption. Smooth surfaces reveal a lighter, softer tone, while textured finishes achieve a richer, darker shade, highlighting each material’s unique absorption properties due to differences in clay, sand, and particle composition. Key Features: - **Breathable** - Unlike traditional paints, allowing moisture to escape without compromising the integrity of the masonry. - **UV Protected** - Mineral pigments (inorganic) ensure the color remains vibrant over time. - **Non-Combustible** - The masonry itself will burn before the actual pigment, ensuring lasting protection. - **Alkaline** - With a pH of 11-12, our stains prevent mildew and algae growth, unlike most paints that sit at an 8-9 pH. - **Safe to Use** - Can be applied with up to 10% moisture on vertical walls without issues. - **Eco-friendly** - Non-hazardous material that can be recycled; even stained bricks can be safely disposed of. Our masonry stain enhances curb appeal, increases property value, and is virtually maintenance-free in most cases. Choose from a solid opaque finish or a lasur, semi-transparent finish for your project. Visit www.mineralstains.com for more information.

Mineral Stains – Achieving a Stunning Stone Look with Coffee Crisp and Biscuit Colors Most people don’t realize that Mineral Stains’ Masonry Stain isn’t just for brick or concrete—it works beautifully on natural and cultured stone too! With the Coffee Crisp and Biscuit stain colors, you can create a warm, inviting look on your stone surfaces, transforming them into rich, multi-dimensional pieces. As long as the stone surface is free of any sealers or coatings that prevent water absorption, the stain will soak in and crystallize within the stone’s pores, permanently changing the color for years to come. When thinking about updating masonry, it’s easy to focus on the aesthetic alone, but breathability and UV protection are crucial. Our stains preserve the integrity of your masonry, allowing it to breathe naturally to prevent trapped moisture, while providing essential UV protection to keep colors vibrant. Non-combustible and maintaining a high pH of 11-12, Mineral Stains’ products deter mildew and algae growth, making them a reliable choice for beautiful, low-maintenance exteriors. Whether you’re looking to revamp a home or a commercial building, our Masonry Stains offer beauty and functionality, a combination that works for any vertical masonry surface. In this video, we’re going to talk about how our mineral stains stand out compared to traditional coatings like acrylic, latex, and elastomeric, when applied to Masonry. Our product is made with potassium silicate, also known as waterglass. What makes our stain different is that it soaks into the surface, bonding with the substrate. This is unlike traditional coatings that just sit on top of the surface, leaving a plastic or elastic film over your brick or masonry. By using our masonry stains, you avoid the headaches of frequent maintenance, color failure, and the lack of UV protection found in regular paints. This is where we shine – our products help preserve your masonry, giving it a natural look, while remaining breathable and UV protected. We want your building to look great, but also stay healthy by using a product that won’t trap moisture. Over the course of 20 years, most buildings are painted 4 to 5 times. That means you’re spending more time, money, and risking the structural integrity of your masonry because it’s not able to breathe properly. Join us in spreading the word about masonry preservation through proper coatings. Our stains are breathable, UV protected, water-based, and eco-friendly. Let’s preserve your building and keep it looking beautiful for years to come. #Paint #Color #SherwinWilliams #BenjaminMoore #CurbAppeal #MasonryPreservation #BuildingValue #EcoFriendly #UVProtection #BreathableCoatings #BrickStain #MasonryStain #MineralStains #ExteriorDesign #BuildingMaintenance #SustainableDesign #NaturalFinish #Preservation #BuildingProtection #CurbAppeal #LowMaintenance #LongLastingResults https://lnkd.in/eV_6NQB5
