While he was just 26 years-old at the time, Bill has now been in business for 41 years. Bill reflects, “40+ years later, this award means I’ve established a reliable source of income, year in and year out. I did my ‘first million’ in 2000, and have been over the million mark ever since, year in and year out. The Worcester market is very consistent for me. This is a lucrative business and Minuteman Press has been good to me. For Bill, digital printing was a game-changer, and Minuteman Press embracing digital printing showed just how ahead of the curve they were on emerging trends. Bill says, “By far, the most impactful change I’ve seen is the move to digital printing. We used to run so much black and white printing for retailers as well as medical forms for groups. Digital printing ushered in high-quality color runs that have made operating the business much easier. The whole operation is streamlined with digital printing – we have the print-ready file, send it to our Xerox machine, and our quality is just as good as it would be on a 6-color press. The margins are tremendous for us with digital printing and it’s the highest margin product we sell.” He adds, “Running the business for 41 years, I am very happy with Minuteman Press as my franchisor. I had the option of leaving the franchise after 25 years or renewing the agreement, and I renewed. We have the support, the freedom, the vendor contracts, and the FLEX software. I feel that Minuteman Press was always leading the charge in the industry and they proved that by getting on top of the digital printing trend right when it was going to happen. Van Duker passes torch after 46 years of printing in Citrus Heights https://lnkd.in/e6U2x96H With nearly five decades in the #printingbusiness behind him, Bill Van Duker has stopped the presses at All Star Printing as he turns a page to a new chapter. After running All Star Printing for decades, Van Duker is now helping fellow Citrus Heights businessman Uddhav “Gary” Giri open a Minuteman Press #franchise location at 6232 Greenback Ln. Giri is using the equipment from All Star Printing under the new name and plans to continue Van Duker’s legacy in serving the #community. “Bill’s got an incredible legacy in Citrus Heights,” Giri said, noting that his previous business was also one he took over from a retiring owner. “They’re just very honest people that just want serve the community the best way they can.” The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce recently honored Van Duker with awards and proclamations during a Sept. 17 luncheon. The print shop also won the 2024 Best of Citrus Heights Award at a ceremony on Sept. 19 in the category of Best Printing and Design Services. The 88-year-old Van Duker said he was looking for a way to pass on the business after 46 years in printing when he started talking with Giri. “I was very concerned about the customers with whom I had a relationship for five, 10, 15, in some cases 20 years, that they would continue to be cared for,” Van Duker said. “I feel very comfortable about transitioning the business because our business is a relationship business, not a transactional business.” With a long history of doing business in Citrus Heights, Giri says the community feels like home to him. “Citrus Heights has been an incredibly good city for me,” Giri said. “I really feel like this is my own village now because most of my adult life, I’ve been doing business here.” Read full story in the Citrus Heights Sentinel: https://lnkd.in/e6U2x96H

The #business held their #grandopening on Thursday, Sept. 5, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Union County Chamber of Commerce. Here are some excerpts from their local Monroe newspaper, The Enquirer Journal: Why Minuteman Press? --Monroe franchise owners Bala and Deiva Subramanian said applying to be Minuteman franchise owners aligned with their goals to expand graphic designing. They explored other franchises including UPS and FedEx before settling into Minuteman Press. --“It fits our lifestyle, because for the past 22 years, I worked in it, so it’s like, you know, it’s a five-day and 9-to-5 kind of job,” Bala said. “I’m used to living that lifestyle.” Grand Opening Event --Bala guided the crowd on a tour of the business and pointed out various equipment. Printing tools inside the store include a digital print press, a shrink wrap machine, a lamination machine and a guillotine cutter. The local store will also offer promotional products and direct mail marketing. What's next? --Bala said his main roles are sales and marketing, while Deiva will manage the business operations. Just ask Christian Camden, owner of Minuteman Press in Hoffman Estates, IL. Thanks to a lead generated by the Minuteman Press Internet Marketing Program, Christian and his team have become the go-to printers for Lisa Laskey, who is the owner of local celebrity Frannie the Chihuahua. Christian says, “Frannie is a little chihuahua that is in LOVE with her local postman Dan, and they have a really cute relationship. We met Frannie’s owner Lisa Laskey after getting an Internet Marketing Program lead. Lisa runs a TikTok account about Frannie and Dan called FrannieLife (@lisaandfrannie) that has over 265,000 followers as well as other popular social media channels. Their videos went viral during the pandemic and caught the eyes of local news crews here in Chicago. Lisa also takes her profits and donates them to Almost Home Foundation Schaumburg, a local pet rescue.” He continues, “After meeting with Lisa, she placed an order we completed for an event called the #FranDan500 that was Frannie and Dan’s 500th run together. The event took place on July 27, 2024 and was covered by local news stations. The order we completed was for a large magnet for the mail van, 35 water bottle stickers, and 200 business cards.” As for the event, Christian shares, “To celebrate the #FranDan500, we had a full first responder turnout with Police, Fire and EMTs, Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod and his wife Joanne, as well as other local officials and a group from our Chamber of Commerce. There was also a reporter from ABC7 Chicago, who did an in-depth interview with Lisa and Dan as well. I actually agreed to not take a profit on the magnet in exchange for increased brand awareness and visibility to drive in some more business, and I definitely think it’s worked. I’ve received a lot of inquiries about new projects since the #FranDan500 event took place.” Lisa was thrilled with the quality and service provided by Minuteman Press in Hoffman Estates. Christian says, “Lisa’s reaction to the car magnet was amazing. She and Dan kept saying how great it looked and how glad they were that we came up with a solution that looked so nice. Originally, they were planning on making a large paper banner to tape up. Lisa has been giving us shout-outs on her social media channels as much as possible and recommending people call us for any printing needs.” Up next: 18-month calendars & more! Christian shares, “Lisa has tried to send anyone she can our way, and she’s driven in enough traffic that it actually became necessary and worth it to purchase a dye sublimation printer.
