Miss EmpowHer: What does women's empowerment mean to you? Why is it important? Courtney P.: Women empowerment means paying it forward and always opening doors for those coming after you. It is about instilling courage and confidence in the women around you so that you can all thrive and excel together. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the women who accepted me with open arms and spoke highly of me in rooms I was not in. I owe so much of my success to the women in my life who raised me and mentored me throughout my academic and professional years. My mom who always reminded me I can do and be anything I want, my high school advisor who always recommended me for internships, my mentors at PURPLE, the women I worked alongside with at BPCM and The Door, and my fellow e-board member on BWF who suggested I take the role of Director of Marketing instead of the initial role I applied for which led to my interest in communications. Courtney Plummer began her career in communications as the Director of Marketing for her on-campus organization, The Black Women’s Forum (BWF) at The George Washington. Following graduation, Courtney interned for various PR agencies including BPCM and The Door. She is currently a Junior Account Executive at PURPLE working in the Lifestyle division representing various properties in New York City and worldwide. Some of her proudest accomplishments include securing top tier coverage for her clients in NYLON, Vogue, Travel + Leisure, and Conde Nast Traveler, developing creative programming initiatives for her clients, spearheading client campaigns, and fostering meaningful media relationships. 👉 Subscribe to Spotlight Her today 🔗🌟 #WomenEmpowerment #Leadership #CareerAdvice #WomenInBusiness #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalGrowth #Networking #Fashion #WorkLifeBalance #SettingGoals #SuccessTips

Miss EmpowHer: What does women empowerment mean to you? Why is it important? Yaritza Vallejo: To me, women empowerment means fostering the confidence and support necessary for women to pursue their goals and ambitions, even when those goals seem challenging or out of reach. It's about creating an environment where women feel valued and capable of breaking through barriers. This is crucial because increased representation of women, especially women of color, in traditionally underrepresented spaces enriches our communities and leads to more diverse perspectives and innovations. Empowerment helps ensure that all voices have a chance to be heard and that opportunities are accessible to everyone. Yaritza Vallejo is a dynamic professional currently holding the position of Brand Marketing Supervisor at McDonald's Corporation while pursuing her MBA at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management . With a robust background from top Fortune 500 companies like Deloitte and Amazon Yaritza brings diverse experience and perspective to her role. Her impact extends well beyond the corporate sphere. Yaritza is deeply committed to community service. She actively leads young professional boards and mentorship programs, which underscores her dedication to nurturing future leaders. Her exceptional contributions have earned her notable accolades, including the HACR 2024 Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever award, induction into the ADCOLOR Conference and Awards 2023 FUTURES program, and a place on the 2022 Rising Stars List by the ALPFA Inc - Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA), marking her as one of the top 50 emerging Latina talents in the U.S. 👉 Subscribe to Spotlight Her today 🔗🌟 #WomenEmpowerment #Leadership #CareerAdvice #WomenInBusiness #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalGrowth #Networking #WorkLifeBalance #SettingGoals #SuccessTips #BeingAuthentic

Miss EmpowHer: What does women empowerment mean to you? Why is it important? Kirstie Moore: Women empowerment means enabling women to take control of their own lives, make their own decisions, and pursue their dreams without societal limitations. It’s about providing equal access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, ensuring that women have the resources and support they need to thrive. It involves fostering self-belief, resilience, and the courage to overcome obstacles, as well as creating a community where women can share their stories and inspire one another. Women empowerment is important because when women are empowered, they contribute significantly to the strength and prosperity of their families and communities. Empowering women is about unlocking the limitless potential that exists within every woman and girl, so they can fulfill the promise inside of them. Kirstie Moore is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in Business Administration and minored in Entrepreneurship. Through her career, she is able to help current and aspiring CEOs by delivering impactful programs that help them tell their CEO story, enhance their leadership capabilities, and organizational success. Kirstie has a passion for community and storytelling, which is why she created her podcast, Dear Neighborhood. The mission of Dear Neighborhood is to inspire people to positively impact their communities by showcasing stories that promote sustainability, social responsibility, and personal well-being. Through her podcast, she also hosts in person events or side quests as she likes to call them to help people in their 20s get active in their community and meet new friends. 👉 Subscribe to Spotlight Her today 🔗🌟 #WomenEmpowerment #Leadership #CareerAdvice #WomenInBusiness #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalGrowth #Networking #WorkLifeBalance #SettingGoals #SuccessTips #BeingAuthentic #Entrepreneurship
