Transforming emergency response and justice outcomes, one community at a time.

I had the great honor of visiting Calvert County Government's 911 Communications Center yesterday with Maryland Senator Kagan and other distinguished government and 911 experts. Maryland has been a progressive leader in advancing 911 and Next Generation 911 for years. It's great to see elected officials embracing the opportunity to get involved in public safety and emergency communications, not only by creating legislation, but by understanding the operational and resource challenges facing our 911 centers. That understanding doesn't come from sitting in an office at the state capital, but by visiting the centers and meeting with 911 professionals who are protecting their communities and responding to emergencies. Kudos to Senator Kagan for fulfilling her promise to visit all 24 emergency communications centers in Maryland. I'm also humbled to have been invited to represent the great team of experts from Mission Critical Partners who support Maryland's efforts to enhance 911 service delivery.

Saving the best for last: Thank you to Maryland Senator Cheryl Kagan for visiting the Calvert 911 Communications Center on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. Calvert County was the final stop on her tour of 911 centers in all 24 Maryland jurisdictions. A champion for 911 services, Senator Kagan was accompanied by Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM) Secretary Russ Strickland, former Maryland Senator Ed Reilly; Jack Markey, Maryland 911 Board chair; Dr. Christy Collins, 911 Board executive director; Kevin Kinnally, legislative director for the Maryland Association of Counties; John Chiaramonte, president of Mission Critical Partners; CEO of RapidDeploy Steven Raucher and other Maryland 911 Board members. During her stop in Calvert County, she discussed ongoing efforts to improve technology, training and support for 911 operators and recognized the vital role of our local 911 professionals. The visitors took time to meet each 911 operator and trainee on duty and express appreciation for their critical work for the Calvert County community. "Maryland's 911 specialists are the courageous women and men who save lives every day, who are too often invisible -- we see you, we hear you and we appreciate you," said Senator Kagan. She added, "I am thrilled to celebrate our remarkable public safety leaders in Calvert County and around the state." The Calvert 911 Communications Center was recently awarded the Partner in Education Recognition (PIER) certificate by the National Emergency Number Association. This honor highlights the team's ongoing commitment to excellence in 911 operations, ensuring that the community receives timely and efficient emergency response services. The center's dedication to professional development and continuing education plays a crucial role in keeping Calvert County safe. • Mission Critical Partners is proud to have supported Senator Cheryl Kagan in her mission to enhance emergency outcomes across Maryland. Her dedication to public safety has led to important improvements, including strengthening the recruitment, training, and retention of 9-1-1 Specialists, improving geolocation accuracy, tackling cybersecurity challenges, and addressing the dangers of "swatting." Senator Kagan’s hands-on approach and leadership have made a meaningful difference in the communities we serve, and we are grateful for her partnership. Thank you, Senator Kagan, for your tireless efforts to build a safer future for Maryland’s residents. We look forward to continuing this important work together. #PublicSafety #NG911 #EmergencyResponse #Maryland911 #MissionCriticalPartners
