November is National Adoption Month! ❤️ This month, we shine a light on the 109,000 children across the U.S. with adoption as their permanency goal—many at risk of aging out of foster care without permanent family connections. In West Virginia, over 5,900 children are in foster care, and Mission WV has spent 27 years dedicated to supporting these children and finding them loving, stable families. Celebrate with us at a free community movie screening! 🎬 Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot 📍 River Ridge Teays Valley, Hurricane, WV 🗓 Saturday, November 9 | Doors at 2 PM, Movie at 2:30 PM Together, let’s work to ensure every child finds the family and support they deserve. 💙 #NationalAdoptionMonth

🌟 Making a Difference, One Box at a Time! 🌟 Today, we gathered an incredible team of volunteers to pack 100 Affirmation Boxes specifically designed for Black and biracial youth in foster, adoptive, and kinship families. These boxes are filled with thoughtful items and messages of encouragement, meant to uplift and empower the young people who receive them. A huge THANK YOU to our friends from Aetna and all the community members who came together to lend a hand. Because of your hard work and dedication, these boxes are ready to bring some extra love and support to youth in care. 💙

Thank you to Putnam STOP Coalition for having us at the Trunk or Treat! We had an absolute blast and can’t wait to do it again next year! 🎃 Some of our favorite costumes included: all the Beetlejuice characters (especially Bob!), the old man with a cane, Snoopy and Woodstock, the dad dressed as the Joker, and the giant inflatable balloon dog. 👻 Looking forward to more fun next time!

We're so grateful to the Elkins General Federation of Women's Club for welcoming our Marketing Director, Kylee Hassan, to speak about foster care, kinship programs, and resources that support vulnerable youth and families in WV. In addition to learning about how Mission WV helps youth in care, the group generously donated $200 to directly benefit those in need. Thank you for your incredible support and commitment to making a difference! 💙

A huge shoutout to former WVU basketball star, Truck Bryant, for his incredible generosity! Truck recently purchased a large number of much-needed items from our Amazon wishlist, all to support youth in foster care. We are so grateful for the support of West Virginians like Truck, who have a heart for giving back and making a difference in our community. Thank you, Truck, for being an inspiration and helping brighten the lives of these amazing kids!
