The Missouri State Capitol is pink tonight to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month in honor of survivors, those lost to breast cancer, those battling the disease, medical professionals and researchers. Breast cancer accounts for 1/3 of all cancers diagnosed in Missouri women. On average, nearly 6,000 new breast cancer cases are diagnosed in Missouri each year. Call 866-726-9926 to see if you’re eligible for a NO COST mammogram. Learn more about breast cancer here: Health.Mo.Gov/cancer/. "We need to talk..." isn't the best way to get your teens to open up. Topics like body image and mental health can make it hard to kickstart authentic conversations with young adults in our lives. Well, there's now an app for that! Our "Connect with Me" resources include a mobile app, as well as a physical set of cards you can order. To learn more and order yours, visit Health.Mo.Gov/connect! October is "Let's Talk Month" in Missouri, which speaks to the importance of open, honest and ongoing communication with youth.
