Tomorrow all ~1000 incoming first-year @MIT undergrads will get their minds blown by the two-hour #EnROADS simulation workshop, led by Prof. John Sterman. “Welcome to MIT! We're going to challenge you to solve the climate crisis." Next: We're dreaming of engaging more professors at universities in the fast-emissions-growth middle-income world and then helping them work with their top decision-makers -- think China, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil and on. Already thousands of these profs use #EnROADS in their classroom. We know it works. Why are we doing it? Because we calculated in #CROADS that 80% of the necessary avoided GHG emissions will happen outside the US and EU. Less coal, oil, and gas means better health for all. Plus it's just fair and equitable -- these countries didn't cause the problem but are disproportionately affected by it. Stay tuned! We're creating a plan this fall.

SLOANIE SPOTLIGHT ✨ | James Lee, MBA ’25, originally studied Chemical Engineering, but knew it wasn't the career path for him. So he spent some time as a Business Analyst at ExxonMobil, then pivoted to Amazon Web Services where he tailored creative solutions to customer problems and helped them leverage the power of cloud computing. When it came time to choose a business school, James sought the one best for a career in technology – leading him to MIT Sloan. “I mean, it’s even in the name!” he says. “MIT Sloan is at the perfect intersection of business, technology, and entrepreneurship while being able to leverage the surrounding communities in Boston, New York, Harvard, and wider MIT.” Swipe to learn more about James and his advice to anyone wondering if MIT Sloan is right for them!

Khushi Pathak, MFin ’25, was confident in pursuing a career in mathematics, but it was a class in financial mathematics and a couple of internships in quantitative research and platform engineering that inspired her to dive deeper into finance at MIT Sloan. “The MFin program ticked all my boxes," she says.
