Before MIT Sloan, Jack O'Brien, MBA '25, co-founded a software company helping early-stage founders raise funds remotely – amassing 5,000 users and eventually was acquired. With that kind of win, what's next? A new venture? Join another startup? For Jack, it was business school; specifically MIT. “MIT was the school that made sense for me with its focus on entrepreneurship and engineering. It was the only school I applied to, and I would have taken a job offer if I didn’t get accepted.” We joined Jack for the day to see what life is like for a student exploring the intersection of entrepreneurship, AI, and climate tech. Simple skillet began out of boredom during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. But after a PCOS diagnosis, its founder, Inbar Gavra, MBA ‘26, pivoted the platform to reflect her new food journey managing the hormonal disorder. “It's the resource I wish I had when I was diagnosed with PCOS,” says Inbar, who received her diagnosis at the age of 24. “So it really warms my heart to get to do this for other women.” Now she’s moving from the web page to the physical (& eBook) page with her upcoming cookbook, Cooking in Sync with Your Cycle. A culmination of 60 of her favorite recipes, she hopes the cookbook lets readers “jump straight into the fun part” of the process and helps them avoid the struggles she faced. With the book's release fast approaching, we chatted with Inbar about Simple Skillet and her goals at MIT and beyond!

Club Demonstration Services (CDS), the powerhouse partner behind retail giant Costco, provides product samples and demos in more than 800 Costco warehouses across 12 countries, with a strong focus on food. There’s just one problem: Demonstrations, food especially, appeal to in-person customers. The company aimed to branch out to new products, especially health, beauty, and home goods, to attract online shoppers. Entrepreneurship in Organizations Lab students Masa Kawahashi, SFMBA '24 and Ayobami Aluko, SFMBA ’24 were tasked with sharpening CDS’s e-commerce strategy.
