A legend retires... When learning as humans, we look around for examples of how to live. We observe. Over time, we put our spin on how we show up, but we often start through observation. Thankfully, I've always had a beautiful example in my dad. Service is in my DNA. You can count up all the years in numerous roles to get an idea of his impact, but what's not shown is all the special projects. You don't see all the volunteer efforts within the community. You can't imagine the full scope of the ways he helped raise money for various programs and causes. It's not shown how his energy and personality kept people light on their feet. You also don't get an idea of all the times he stepped-up in whatever capacity was necessary at church (breakfasts, bazaars, Sunday service, preaching, holiday decorating, cooking, the drives). And finally, I never calculated all the moments he showed up for me when I forgot my homework or needed a last-minute signature. It's difficult to encapsulate every time he's shown up to support me. A lifetime of service leaves invisible fingerprints everywhere the eye cannot see. His commitment has been poured into the foundation of his community. Energy is one of the greatest gifts we have to share, and his gifts are immeasurable. Cheers to you, my sweet Tommy Daddy! To a man whose emotional capacity is as deep as the ocean, my hope for your next chapter is that you explore yourself. May this time of your life be in service of YOU. May you discover what calls from within and follow every good-feeling thought. See no limits! Find the richness inside of you and embrace it all with the energy that has been flowing out in service of others for all these colorful years. I love you, Dad. I am proud of you - and that doesn't quite cover it. Congratulations! ❤️

Laughter was like the first form of connection I understood... It's simple. A smile...true joy...it's undeniable—instant communication. Growing up, I watched Dean Martin Roasts with my Dad. Those comedians felt larger than life! I remember looking over at my Dad while he howled at the TV. It was pure magic. It is easy to imagine how comedy has informed so much of who I am. I've been performing my whole life. I started in the church choir, church plays, school plays, and chorus in school. I was even a puppeteer in church for a season. In high school, improv comedy bit me and led to a theatre scholarship in college. The theatre healed me in countless ways! It helped me feel safe to explore and express myself. Later, I studied at The Annoyance Theater and The Second City in Chicago. I became the first female sidekick in Late Night history with The Mystery Hour. I've acted in musicals, plays, commercials, and films, performed hundreds of improv shows...written and performed in sketch shows...hosted countless events...hosted two podcasts and became a morning radio show host. The list goes on... So, why the heck was I TERRIFIED of standup? It baffled me, too. I avoided it for years even though it kept calling to me! Once, I started a standup class and never returned after the first night. I legit panicked. It was my version of sky-diving. This year, I decided that was going to change. As a coach, I encourage radical growth in my clients. If you want a different life, let's make it happen! I witness them taking bold action every day! How can I keep it real with clients if I allow fear to hold me back? When I started coaching, I committed myself to walking the walk with courage. For 6 weeks, I studied, prepared, and wrote my own jokes. I got up every week and performed in front of my peers. The cringe was DEEP and real. I wanted to quit more times than I could count, but I didn't. I took all my feedback and put it to use. Did I mention I wanted to quit every week? I didn't quit. I AM SO PROUD of myself! I am forever changed and forever grateful. Here's the proof! I dare you to show up for yourself. It's awesome.

🦃 Starting my holiday with these gals meant the world to me. ✨ What I wanted more than anything was to share space with women who inspire me. I've also felt seen, supported, and held by the people at this Friendsgiving table in more ways than I can count. 🥰 Next year, I strongly recommend taking time to celebrate the beauty of people in your life who share encouraging energy...those who you want to see WIN...and those who want to see you win, too! 🪬 And check it out! Olivia gave me my first ever Hamsa (made by her Mommy). I cherish this gift DEEPLY! #friendsgiving #thanksgiving #joplinmo #grateful

Other than my decision to use a rub on tanner the morning of an event where I'd be sweating onstage... We had such an awesome trip! I saw my family and our old KKOW billboard from last year, too! Here's my recap in photos and words. Speaking at MSSU’s Orientation was one of the most inspiring experiences! As I am passionate about supporting the next generation of leaders, it was an incredible honor to have the opportunity to share tools and insights with a room full of people embarking on a new journey! What truly inspired me was the sense of possibility and potential that permeated the entire event. These are not just any college students - they are future leaders, innovators, and change-makers, each with their own unique visions for the future and the passion and drive to make them a reality. As I listened to their questions and ideas, I was struck by the immense potential that lies within this generation of students. They are not content to accept the status quo - they are determined to challenge it, to push boundaries, and to create a life of their own. And that, ultimately, is what inspired me the most. Seeing the passion and determination in the eyes of these individuals reminded me of the power of human potential, and of the importance of investing in OURSELVES. It also reinforced my own commitment to myself and to my clients. In short, it left me feeling inspired, energized, and optimistic about the future. It’s a reminder of the incredible potential that lies within each and every one of us, and of the importance of investing in that potential to create a better world for us all. Big thanks to MSSU and Jared for having me! I love my new gold, sparkly cup! You can start new TODAY, by the way. Introducing…Ungrounded! This is our new improv troupe! Last weekend, we had our first show The Comedy Arena and we opened for Last 2nd Chance. You know when you’re at the right place at the right time and the Universe perfectly aligns people and places that are meant for you? That’s what’s happening. I love my new friends. I love Terry Catlett for investing in us. I love The Comedy Arena and its leadership for creating this community and for the opportunity to perform. We are so supported. I can feel myself growing and I am SO here for it. #thecomedyarena #mckinneytx #downtownmckinney
