If you weren't able to make the #Interledger Summit this past weekend, Nyi has noted some highlights in this post.
We’re thrilled to have represented ThitsaWorks at the #Interledger Summit 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa! This event brought together global changemakers committed to a future where payments are seamless and accessible for everyone, everywhere. Top innovators shared transformative insights on financial inclusion and digital payments. It was an honor to present our roadmap for ThitsaX – our payment integration platform that leverages the Interledger Protocol to facilitate cross-ledger transactions, unlocking financial inclusion at scale. We were especially excited to reconnect with friends from the open-source communities like Interledger Foundation, Mojaloop Foundation, Mifos Initiative, and Tazama.org, which are shaping the future of inclusive finance. We learned so much at the Summit. Highlights for us are: ✨ Packetization of Money: Stefan Thomas on breaking payments into packets for better scalability and efficiency. ✨ Future of Financial Inclusion: Kosta Peric of Gates Foundation discussed reaching the 1 billion unbanked, with new solutions like Project Yes for the world’s most vulnerable. ✨ Cross-Border Regulatory Challenges: Insights from Adrian Hope-Baili, Rob Reeve, Julie Guetta, and Enej Pungercar, moderated by Roberto Valdovinos. ✨ Cross-Border Payments for the SADC Region: New solutions from Michael Mbuthia and Sarel Myburgh for instant cross-border transactions. ✨ Last-Mile Financial Inclusion: Mifos’s Edward Cable and David Higgins emphasized shared infrastructure for underserved communities. ✨ Interoperability in Payments: Mojaloop Foundation’s Michael Richards on making global payments more accessible. ✨ Inclusive Banking for Undocumented Communities: Waag Futurelab and Here to Support led a workshop on banking for migrant communities. ✨ Empowering Women through Technology: Maria Gorrettie Namuddu on bridging the gender digital gap with Kanzu Code. Thank you to all participants and the Interledger Foundation team for such an impactful summit! ISO 20022 ACROSS ASEAN Today's session at the Women in Payments ASEAN 2024 Symposium provided invaluable insights into the state of ISO 20022 adoption across the region. A round of applause for our co-leads, Julie Guetta (Mojaloop Foundation) and A.J Tan (PayPal), for leading an engaging discussion on the challenges of harmonizing standards and ensuring interoperability between member states. Your exploration of the benefits ISO 20022 offers, such as richer data exchange and improved transaction efficiency, was truly enlightening. As ASEAN continues to strive for regional financial integration, sessions like this one are critical in shaping the future of digital payments. #WomenInPayments #WIPASEAN2024 #LeadingThroughVolatility #WomenLeaders #WomenLeadership #WomenInTech #Payments #Fintech #ISO20022
