So this happened at Mondays Cancer Care 5th Annual Under The Stars Gala: At sunset, guests were directed to the patio where they received a sparkler for our Annual ‘Night of Light' Ceremony. These sparklers, lit in unity, symbolize the courage and strength of cancer survivors, those still fighting, and the lasting impact of those who have left this world. Let us remember that no one asks for cancer, but we can be deliberate in helping those who need us. Today marks 35 years since my mother left this world..and the reason why Mondays Cancer Care even came to be. Some years hit me harder than others, this year, it's a difficult one. Yet, by her passing, I have no choice but to find deep sense of gratitude. For this organization has been intimately involved with helping thousands of individuals with cancer find the strength and care they need to get through this terrible disease. This disease that hits so many of us. 💔 Through her passing - so much good has come to so many people. I don't even know how to make that make sense but it is the reason I come to this place every day with full heart open, my sleeves rolled up and ready to keep on keeping on.
