Depression is a leading cause of disability and death, affecting individuals and society as a whole. As we observe Depression Education and Awareness Month, it’s crucial to acknowledge the prevalence of this mental health condition. Discover key statistics that highlight its widespread impact: https://ow.ly/iftt50TTImv
-
As stated by the National Institutes of Health, depression affects roughly 6% of seniors over 60 and up to 27% of those over 85. Despite its prevalence, many cases go undetected because symptoms can mirror age-related changes, such as fatigue, loss of appetite, and cognitive decline. Recognizing these signs early is crucial for effective support and improved quality of life.

Research from the National Library of Medicine shows that up to 4.4% of adults meet the criteria for ADHD, yet less than 20% receive a proper diagnosis or treatment. In adults, ADHD symptoms can manifest in less obvious ways, such as forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, and restlessness. If you notice these signs in yourself, consider seeking professional support. Awareness is key to understanding ADHD! Find valuable information here: https://lnkd.in/gA86FYy

This Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 6–12), we highlight the critical need for awareness and support in our communities and workplaces.
