About us
Established in 1974, The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) serves children six weeks through Grade 12, guiding them on their journey to become independent, self-aware, critical thinkers. Practicing the Montessori method established by renowned educator Dr. Maria Montessori, MSR provides a safe place where children of all ages engage in self-directed and real-world learning informed by each child’s unique and individual interests and skills. At the early education and elementary school levels, children build foundational skills as they explore their world and their place in it. In Middle School students continue developing as independent learners as teachers guide them through a rich project-based and hands-on Montessori curriculum. At the high school level, students transition to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program where they engage in a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, gain real-world experience, and become the leaders in their own lives. Throughout a child’s MSR experience, through age-appropriate experiences and with guidance from expert teachers, the Montessori Method inspires curiosity and discovery as students engage in self-directed, hands-on, and project-based learning. Join us for an information session or schedule a campus visit to see for yourself how real-life learning works at MSR. The North Carolina Suzuki Association hosted its annual statewide Play-In at Meredith College on September 14th. 12 students from MSR's Lower Elementary program participated and the students enjoyed one Repertoire class and one Music Mind Games class, before performing in a concert with 90 other students from around the state. The last time this event took place in Raleigh was 2018, and we felt honored to be the host city once again. A Play-In is a large get together of students from across studios, instruments, and levels who are all learning Suzuki repertoire. Thank you to all of the students, parents, and faculty who worked so hard to make this day so wonderful!

We want to extend our gratitude to The Montessori School of Raleigh for teaming up with us for this year's spring camp! 🌸 It's been an absolute blast running our Arcade Mania camp with the students. From Ice and Fire Day where we designed lava-proof barns during the Mount Vesuvius eruption to creating our very own Super STEAMio roller coasters with power-ups, we've had an incredible time exploring creativity and innovation together. Throughout the camp, we've raced winter bobsleds, crafted ultimate racing carts, soared with looping gliders, engineered ziplines, played with soft-serve cone slime, and built egg-safe parachutes! 🎢🏎️✈️ Here's to more adventures, more discoveries, and more unforgettable memories ahead! Thank you once again for this fantastic opportunity. 💫 #SpringCampFun #montessoripartnership #steameducation #challengeislandrtp #montessorischoolofraleigh #MSR
