Morgan’s Message® is a community amplifying stories, resources & expertise to confront student-athlete mental health.
About us
We are striving to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. We aim to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone. We are now a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation and can begin accepting donations. Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Donations will go towards furthering our mission - continuing to take a shot against the stigmatization of student-athlete mental health. • 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗗. 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 | 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟳, 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟳 - 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵 • Milestones and significant life events are never easy after a loss, and today's anniversary is one of the hardest. It has been 𝙛𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 since our beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, friend, and teammate, Morgan Rodgers, tragically took her own life. Not a day goes by without us missing her. For those who never had the chance to meet Morgan, "she was a very selfless person who was always thinking of others," as her twin sister, Aberle, often shares. Her father, Kurt, always talks about Morgan as " a charismatic, all-around rockstar." Despite her radiant smile, Morgan hid a deep pain many of us never saw. We want to remind everyone to 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙢 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚. Please comment below if you have a special memory with Morgan or want to share how Morgan's Message® 🦋 has impacted you. These messages always warm our hearts on this difficult day. Morgan, we love you and miss you dearly. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗸𝗶𝗱. You were and still are one hell of a presence.

This Thursday, July 11th, we will be holding our 5th Annual #9for9 Challenge. We invite you to join us as we celebrate Morgan's Message's 4th birthday and the life of Morgan D. Rodgers, who tragically died by suicide on this date in 2019. In true Morgan spirit, we like to encourage our community to get active on this date each year by doing anything in increments of 9, which was Morgan's lacrosse number at Duke University. Whether it be 9 miles, 9 push-ups or 9 minutes of super sick dance moves, we want to see it. Be sure to post a picture or video of your activity - whatever it may be - on your Instagram story, tag @morgansmessage and hashtag #9for9 so we can highlight all the wonderful things the Morgan's Message community is doing to honor Morgan and continue battling the stigma surrounding mental health in athletics.
